Honestly they don't even look good together and Maya is too rude to Lucas to even make the relationship work. It also seems like Lucas brings out the worst in Maya, not only is she mean to him, but she's not very supportive in his decisions either.
Honestly, if she actually felt like Riley was more important to her than she wouldn't have gone after Lucas in the first place . I rest my case.
