Chapter Fourteen

Isabelle Lee's Point of View

Today is the day!

After so many rehearsals and too much waiting, it's finally here and I am so stoked.

Today is my recital. Yes, I've performed a bunch of times already, but this time it's different because all of my loved ones are watching and I couldn't wait any longer to dance in front of them.

I left very early this morning so I could practice more and have more time to prepare myself.

And now that there is thirteen minutes left before the show begins, everyone is already dressed with their beautiful costumes and make up on.

"Isabelle! Where are you? Someone's looking for you!" I can hear Daniella's voice calling for me which halts me from rehearsing my balance and flexibility.

As soon as I turn to her direction, I could see Matteo trailing behind her which causes me to stop everything I'm doing and run to hug him.

"This is for yo-" I cut him off by hugging him tighter.

"Aww Mateo!!! Thank you so much for everything!!!" I say as I wipe out a tear and then hug him for the second time. "I love sunflowers so much. Thank you for these and for coming, it means so much to me!" I add as I smell the best bouquet of sunflowers he gave me.

"It's my pleasur-" I cut him off once again.

"Wait, is Peter here already?" I couldn't help myself from asking. I want to see him badly for he is my inspiration and motivation in dancing. Without him, I wouldn't be a part of this famous dance group here at Seoul.

"Uhm, he isn't here yet."

What?

"He promised me he'll be here four hours earlier." I say to no one in particular and I could hear my voice with a disappointed tone. "But anyways, the important thing is, everyone will be here before the show begins!" I try to assure myself. I couldn't be negative when I am about to have a performance and it's not like a big deal if Peter isn't here when the show isn't starting yet.

"That's right! Hey, I think your director is calling for all the dancers already. Break a leg and always remember that I lo-, I mean I am always proud of you no matter what! See you later!"

God, Mateo is absolutely the sweetest, I could just pinch his squishy cheeks!

"Thank you, Matteo! I'll do my best for you!" I embrace him tight once again as if my life depends on it. "See you later!"

"Isabelle, hurry up!" And this is the cue for us to leave each other.

"Group A, get ready! Group B, prepare yourselves! We're starting in five minutes!" The director announces which causes all of us to move and get ready for this show.
