I had to stop there this story had become a little much before bed time. Sighing I placed the book on the nightstand, blew out the candle and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was long gone. Today had been exhausting and I hadn't even done anything... I have so much hope for tomorrow. I'm so excited.

Chapter 9

With a gasp I woke up, my body dripping with sweat and unable to breath properly. "Come on Airis, open the door!" I heard a muffled voice say a tone of impatience filling it. 'What?' I thought sluggishly. It's too early in the morning for me to comprehend what's going on around me properly. I've never really been a morning person.

"Airis, it's me the guy from yesterday" I heard the same voice say, now identified as the same guy from yesterday, the guy with the eyea filles with mischief. It doesn't seem like he's going to stop knocking anytime soon. "Coming!" I grumbled as I climbed out of my heavenly bed and tiptoed around all the furniture till I reached the door.

With a sigh and an overly annoyed expression on my face I couldn't help but death stare the person on the other side of the door. It really was the guy from yesterday. The one that had asked me if I was scared. I wonder how he found my room? The thought is fleeting because soon another seems to pop up. What is he wearing?! Dressed from head to toe in the schools black uniform I can't help but notice some blue material intertwined with the uniform as well. Probably so that he can be easily identified as a water Elemental.... My thought try to rationalize his odd dressing.

Flashing me a smile he ignored me and instead walked into my room as if he owned the place. "What do you want?" I moaned as I hit my head against the door I had just closed. "Well it's morning and I'm kind of hungry thought we'd get breakfast" he said smiling at me. "But it's Saturday and breakfast is long passed" I mutter as I plow past him and fall back into my bed. Probably not the most ladylike thing I could've done but who cares. I'm not here to impress anyone.

"No darling" he sighed as he joined me on the bed.
"Today is Sunday" my eyes popped open.
"I slept for a whole day?!" I exclaimed.
He shrugged heavily.
"It is normal for firat uears to sleep through their first day. All the stress can be a bit much to handle that is why all new recruits come to the school on a Saturday so that you can have one day to get used to everything before you're thrown head first into the chaos of things" he stated.

'Of course why didn't I think of that?' I thought scrunching my eyebrows my lips twisting into a sort of dilapidated smile. "Oh?" I asked as I walked passed him to my closet and into my bathroom. "What are you doooiiing?" He whined banging his fists against the closed bathroom door. "Got to take a quick shower give me like five minutes" I said opening the shower stream to full power and twisting the lever so that it rests on hot. Soon enough steam filled the bathroom and I stepped into rhe sprey of the water. I'll never get tired of this! I can't help but smile like a loon. This is the most relaxed I've been in years.

"Fine I'll just be here" I heard him say his voice slightly muffled through the door and the spray of the water.

Sighing I exited the bathroom, my hands to busy towel drying my hair to catch the thing being thrown at me. "What!" I gasped jumping back on instinct to dodge the thing. The thing turning out to be one of my shoes. "Reall?!" I asked exasperated as I hung the towel over it's rail to dry before bending down to get the shoe.

Instantly I'm aware of his obnoxious laughter and it echoes through my room. "Oh quiet you!" I giggled flinging an arm in his direction. Biggest. Mistake. Ever! A ball of flames the size of a fist flew at him.

Though luckily for me and him he was able to stop it in time because to my utter astonishment a wall of water had left his hand and extinguished the flame. "I didn't know people could do that..." I whispered staring into his wide eyes, his expression obviously mirroring mine.

I could see the gears in his head turning and then suddenly it was gone. His calculating gaze was replaced by that mischievous smile he had, had on yesterday.
"Lucky I'm quick in my feet" he grinned. "Yeah" I whispered as my heartbeat finally started to calm down.
"Well let's go get breakfast" he said as he shuffled past me and to the door.

"Yeah" I mumbled as I quickly tied my shoes before jogging after him making sure to close and lock my door on my way out.

"Breakfast... " the last thing on my mind at that moment was breakfast but after receiving another growl from very rude tummy I quickened my pace. 'Wonder what's for breakfast' I thought bitterly still being able to feel the flames left my hand.

That could've gone very differently... I could've seriously hurt someone. I need to learn how to get these flames under control. And here I was wondering if I would ever be able to coniure the flames again. Now I just need to figure out how to not conjure them.
