"You can't!" stated Sebastian as he made a grab for my arm. "I have too, she would do the same for me." I stated as I took off into the forest once again with only one thought on my mind.

'Please be ok!'

Chapter 14

Once in the forest I resorted to following either the whimpers or the growling. It didn't take me that long to find her. As I made my way, as lightly as possible so as not to alert the lion that I was approaching, I traveled through the underbrush of the forest. Hopefully this would mask my scent a little and the creature won't know I'm there.

As soon as I could see her I fell to the ground and pressed myself under a cluster of rocks where I knew I'd be safe if the creature did try to get me. The creature much to my astonishment turned out to be a lion-like thing. The head and body of a lion bit the tale was more whip-like. The speed at which Its tale flicked seemed dangerous and proved to be exactly that when it hit the trunk of the tree a meter to its left and the tree trunk actually splintered away. Holy cow! I've never seen anything like that before!

What kind of creature is this?! And how do the professors not know that its here?

Gasping and sweating profusely I tried to think of a plan. 'Maybe I'll just run in and drag her away...' I thought as I shifted the leaves blocking my view from the clearing where I could see her. With my heart beating in my throat it's insanely difficult to even think logically and my hands are shaking.

Immediately I felt the hairs on my neck stand on end, the creature was back. And much much closer to me to be exact but it is magnificent. The way it's muscles ripled as it walked.... Stalking around the clearing letting out growling roars the sent chills up my spine and hissed that iced over my veins. This is one creature I dont want to run into in the dark.

For the third time that day I felt my body fill with tingles. 'Maybe the cats scared of a little heat?' I thought as a small smile lit up my face. It would seem as though I finally have a plan.

With a hiss I crawled out from under the cluster of rocks and launched myself across to where O'Riley lay slumped against a fallen tree clutching her bleeding arm close to her body.

As soon as I had left my hiding place I felt my hands burst into flames. Their bright flickering flames were brilliant and big and they definitely did the job. If that job was to het the creatures atyention dokey focused on me that it. Time to bring out the big guns!
Immediately the lion spun around and roared at me. My fear had too be boosting the flames because instead of them disappearing they only grew in size.

"Fox?" I heard O'Riley gasped as I shifted myself in a circle around her keeping eye contact with the creature as it stalked around us looking for a weak point. The intelligence in its eyes set my heart beating in a new rhythm. I've never seen an animal like this. Never even heard of something close to this.

"I've got you" I muttered softly as I flicked my right hand out towards the lion which caused a ball of flames to fly towards the crouched animal. It would seem as though fighting my instinct is the only option I have...

My attack was answered by a roar of anger and pain accompanied with a soft sizzling sound, it was then that I knew that my flames as hit their mark. Of course the rising smoke might've also been an indication of my target being in fire. Instantly the cat-ish creature dropped into the ground and started rolling around. Its continuous yowling and hissing the only sounds you could hear in the clearing. That and my heaving breathing I'm sure.

"Your a fire elemental!" I heard O'Riley gasp behind me, she sounded scared and not only of the creature but also of me. "I'll get you out of here" I said as I began to think of a plan.

"O'Riley... " I whispered, I finally had a plan, it's not perfect but it's a plan... My mind was movie g at an incredible pace with my thoughts flying everywhere.

"I'm going to throw a few flame punches at the thing whilst you get up and run, I'll follow behind you!" I called as I shot a look at her over my shoulder. Turning back as I saw her nod I did just as I said was going too and immediately she took of running. I wish I had seen the sneer on her lips or the hate burning in her eyes. But I did not. Maybe it was because I was so used to that look that I didn't notice the change at first?

It was barely five seconds later that I turned on my heel and took off after her. As I ran I could hear the creature following us, it's growls surrounded us. It call for the hunt seemed to echo all around me and for the first time I hoped that it was the only creature in this forest. My adrenaline was pumping faster and faster numbing out any pain I could've felt at that moment.

Finally the end came as we broke through the tree line. There a few meters from us stood the whole class. Their mouth gaping open and stares unforgiving. Thank the stars we made it. We had successfully left the forest behind and we're safe now. Falling down I lay on my back gasping for breath. I feel incredible drained... It must be from using so much of my element after only finding out I even had ine recently.

"You ok?" I asked turning my head in O'Riley's direction. "Your a fire!" She mumbled outraged. "Fire elementals are scum!" She hissed still clutching her bleeding arm where the crearure mustve bitten her.  What?!

Stunned I couldn't believe what she had just said. "Scum? Scum!" I spat at her. "I just saved your life and you've got the nerve to call me scum?!" I seethed. 'Unbelievable' I thought pushing myself into a sitting position. "How ungrateful!" I raged on as I finally managed to stand. The tingles from in the forest had yet to leave my hands.

Suddenly we were surrounded by our whole group. Questions like "Are you guys ok?" and "What happened?" came from all directions. And then came the story. O'Riley told them of my fire control and suddenly it was like I had a deadly decease. Instantly the class had shoved me aside and surrounded her as if I was the one to injure her when instead I was the only ine that had even bothered to try and save her.

I wish I had seen the figure in the tower watching iver the whole display. The wicked smile on their face as they relished in my abandonment.

That was just the beginning, after the avoidance came the glares, harsh words and attempts to hurt me. I was alone once more, though what had made it even worse was the look my brother gave me. He had of course found out from one of his friends who had heard it from someone else. The story had changed so much. It made me sound like the monster.

Aros too had deserted me. It's ironic really I had excepted him when no one els had yet when I  needed him he had abandoned me and he had aslo taken Tommy with him. And I was alone and heartbroken again except this time I really had no one to turn to.

They can think what they want. I am not a monster.
