Author's note: I have only seen the new jungle book two times, so I am sorry if I get some information wrong.

"Look at it mom! It's so pretty!" A small child said while pointing to me from the other side of the glass.

"Yes it is very pretty, but it is also very dangerous, never get to close to a jaguar." The small child looked over at the mother.

"Why mommy? It looks so cute and nice!" The voices started to drown out as more and more people came up to the glass. All I have ever known is cages and having man watch me for a living. When I first was introduced to the Zoo as a small cub, every noise bothered me, every man that came and watched me mad me scared. I don't remember any other family from before I was put in the Zoo, but the only other big cat that I know is Cala, but she is a black panther and not a jaguar. She and I at first didn't get along very well. It was a matter of who got the food first, and who got to sleep where, but after a while we started warming up to each other. Cala has black fur with rather faint spots on her.

I was used to this type of attention now, and I was used to sleeping with all the noise, and that's what I did, and if I couldn't sleep I would walk around seeing if I remembered anyone from the past few years. Cala and I have this game we play, so when ever we see someone we recognize we would get a point, and the person with the most points at the end of the day wins.

As I slowly lay down next to Cala. I rested my head next to hers. She was like a sister to me and she is the only family that I know.

"(y/n) what time is it...." Cala slowly asked as she slowly opened one eye and looked at me. We didn't really know what "time" was in the Zoo because every day seemed to last a different amount of time than the last. Everyone has those days where one day goes by fast and the next drags on for what seems like a long time. And we were only let outside a few times a day, and we couldn't read anything in the Zoo, so it was rather hard to tell what time it was, or even what day of the week it was.

"I'm not sure Cala, but I am really tired today."

"I know, for some reason I am too." We had just gotten fed, and with my animal instinct something smelt off about the food we were given, but since we have lived here for so long we trusted man and I thought it was a different type of food. I tried to stay awake, but my eyes were so heavy. Cala had already fallen asleep, but I could see some of the Zoo man coming into our cage slowly and cautiously. But before I could react my eyes closed and everything went black.

My eyes slowly started to open and it was rather dark. And for some reason I was moving. It wasn't the first time we had a cage transfer, but maybe this was a Zoo transfer. Wait a minute where is Cala?

"CALA!" I yelled and the cage bounced even more.

"(y/n)? Is that you?" I heard her voice to my left.

"Cala! What's going on?"

"I'm not sure, I remember falling asleep and then waking up here."

"Are we in a Zoo transfer?" I asked pressing my body onto the left side so I could hear her better.

"I actually don't know, usually the monkeys tell us because they get their information from the birds, and the birds see everything because they get to walk around!" Cala was always jealous of the birds because they get to walk around freely, but that started to make me think.
