You check your watch to see what time it was. He's already fifteen minutes late.
"Ma'am, are you ready to order?" the waiter asks you yet again.
You smile sadly, "Maybe in five or ten minutes."
The waiter smiles, "Of course."
You can feel people staring; you've already received sympathetic looks from others.
You bite your lip to keep it from quivering. You sigh with tears threatening to fall.
The waiter comes up to take your order.
"Oh my gosh," An unfamiliar voice groans, "Hey I'm sorry I'm so late.." A strange boy takes off his rain coat, and sits across from him.
You don't say anything because you're confused. By this guy and all the people staring.
"The traffic was crazy!"
In that moment, you have never been so fascinated. Whoever he is he's a clever, sweet, and brave man.
"Oh good," the waiter smiles in relief, "Can I get you a drink sir?"
"Just whatever she's drinking." he leans down and kisses you on the cheek. "Hey babe." he finally sits down.
You smile shyly, "That was really nice." you remark lowly.
He shrugs, "What are you talking about?" he hides his smile from anyone who is looking.
You look into his bright, blue eyes and you're compelled.
"Look," he presses his lips in a line. "Whoever stood you up is a total idiot. This was a golden opportunity because a girl like you shouldn't have to go through this."
"Thank you?"
He scoffs, "My name is Lucky," Lucky whispers.
"Y/N."
"Your drink sir," the waiter brings his drink. "Would you like to order now?"
"Yes." you laugh.
You and Lucky, betray a good bond and got along quickly. You like him a lot but one thing you were still down is that your date didn't show up at all.
It was really late and the restaurant is about to close.
"Thank you so much. You didn't have to, but I'm glad you did." You tell him as you get out your wallet.
"Are you kidding? It's my pleasure!" he waves you off. "I've got this."
"No it's the least I could do-"
"I can't have the girl pay on the first date." Lucky smirks at you while chewing a brand new piece of gum.
He offers you a piece and you thank him in the process.
"Well Y/N," he sighs as you both walk out. "It was nice meeting you and I would love to do this again."
Lucky walks you to your car and opens the car door for you.
"I would too...there's my number." You turn your car on after he takes his phone back.
"There's mine." he adds softly giving you back your phone.
You give him a small smirk before kissing him on the cheek. "Goodnight Lucky."
He stops leaning against your car window. "Goodnight Y/N." he waves you goodbye with a toothy smile.
