Victoria was rushed to the nurse's office yesterday. I haven't seen her since. I was eating breakfast with the group. Two people were missing from our table, Victoria and Beatrice. Had Crystal done something to Beatrice?

She could've just gotten sick and she's in her room. There were tons of possibilities.

Tomorrow was Friday, The Night of the Blood Moon. I was kind of nervous for what awaited in the basement.

"I suggest that we should go tonight," Angelica said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

     "The basement."

     "Oh! Why not tomorrow?"

"Tonight would be less dangerous. Rebekah, tomorrow, the whole school won't have classes, that's how dangerous it is."

     "Fine."

I was sitting in my room, staring up at the ceiling. Angelica was coming to my room in five minutes, then we would go to the dreaded basement. What could be in the basement? What made it so scary? I was imagining cobwebs and darkness, when a loud sound came from the closet. It sounded like when someone was pounding on the closet door.

I walked over towards the door. Bright light was flowing through the cracks. I slowly opened it, on the washing machine was the book! The book that I had tried to read, the book Victoria said grants 'sight,' whatever that means. I carried the book to my bed where I sat down and placed it on my lap. Just as I was about to open the front cover, Angelica came in and looked at the book.

I had expected her to have wide eyes but she simply said, "it's time."

"Time for what?" I asked, very confused.

"Open to page 102," Angelica said in a rush.

I opened to the page she said, then her eyes and hands glowed as her feet left the ground. Honestly, it looked like she was possessed or something. She said words that I didn't understand, but when she was done, I understood. Pictures and writing flashed before my eyes, it reminded me of how people see their life flash before their eyes when they die. When the last picture was done, I understood more than I could've ever imagined.

"What happened?" I asked, I was still a bit confused but not how I was before. I looked over at Angelica who looked completely different. Her skin was purple and her ears resembled that of an elf's. Dark purple freckles dotted her cheeks. She had short red hair and a headband that had flowers and leaves. Her eyes were emerald green. The dress she was wearing looked like it was made out of giant leaves.

"Rebekah Ocsar, you now have 'Sight,' the world you once knew was only a piece of what the world really is. There are more things to this life, things I hope you never learn. Crystal was a fairy, she has had a few werewolf and vampire ex-boyfriends that will do anything to get her back, including kill you. That is why we must go into the basement. Everyone thinks you are a demon, except me and Victoria. I will have to explain the rest later, for now we must go into the basement to make Crystal happy." Angelica said, it was hard to digest it all at once. I still had so many questions.

She led me through the dark silent halls. All the students were sleeping and the hall monitors were out.

"What's in the basement?" I asked in a whisper.

"I'll tell you when we get there, for now be quiet and just follow me." Angelica replied.

It seemed like forever until we got to a hall that was a dead end and Angelica said, "This is the entrance."

     "I don't see one."

Angelica reached out and touched the wall, which her hand went through, "Promise me, no matter what you see, don't be scared. Down there is a prison full of something called NightWalkers. They're like a disease, if you're scared and you're not mortal, you will become one. If you are mortal, you'll become their lunch. Also, don't let them touch you, their touch makes you frightened. If something happens to me, run and don't look back."

"Okay, but how will Crystal even know if we've been down in the basement? Can't we just say we have?" I asked, not wanting to be eaten by a NightWalker.

"No, Crystal will tell by how we smell. The NightWalkers smell like fear, if we go down there, their scent will be on our clothes."

"Why couldn't we do this tomorrow night?" I asked.

Angelica's face turned white, she gulped, "because...tomorrow the Night of the Blood Moon. The NightWalkers are set free from their prison. It's called the Blood Moon because the moon turns red, and anyone outside of their rooms will be killed."
