Pushing past Alec, I walked into the living room to find Colin and Brady playing on the Xbox and cleared my throat.
"Oh hey Ana," Brady said, pausing the game.
"Hey Todd," Colin said and I laughed.
"What no hi to me? And hey Brady."
"Fine. Hey Ana," Colin said, and then punched Brady in the ribs. "Unpause the damn game!"
Rolling his eyes, Brady waved at us then turned back to the game, unpausing it. Shaking my head, I walked back into the kitchen. Daniel was dishing out the eggs onto the plates, and I scooped one up, sitting at the table.
"Why do we have a new couch?" I asked.
"Because there was blood all over the other one," Daniel answered and I blushed.
"Oh," I responded. Daniel started to clean the pan and steam rose from the sink, the reaction to the cold water on the hot pan.
Todd lifted his head to see what Daniel was doing and I gasped, dropping my fork. Both my brother and my fiancée rushed over when they heard the fork hit the table, and I stared at my baby.
"Ana?" Daniel asked, worried.
I couldn't answer, but the hand not holding Todd fluttered next to me, searching for Daniel. His hand caught mine and I tore my eyes away from my baby, to stare at him, eyes wide. He was squatting next to me and Alec stood behind him, both of their foreheads creased with worry.
"I'm fine," I reassured them, and they relaxed, but still looked at me with worry in their eyes.
"Then what was that all about?" Alec asked.
"I was just surprised," I muttered, looking back at my baby.
"Surprised by what?"
"Todd," I said. My baby reached up to my face and patted my cheek in comfort. I heard their intake of breath, but ignored it, staring down at him.
Todd frowned and grabbed the table that was just above his head; pulling himself into a sitting position. He swayed and I grabbed him holding him close, while panic caused my heart rate to rise.
"Mom said he would grow fast, but not this fast," I whispered, looking up into the shocked faces of the two men next to me. Daniel just stared back at me, and his forehead creased. Alec started pacing back and forth, not taking his eyes from my baby.
"We need to see mom," He said at last, and I nodded. "Brady! Colin! Get off that game and go get into the car!"
I heard the TV fall silent and they appeared in the kitchen, glancing at Alec then at me, then at Daniel.
"What happened in here?"
"Just get in the car!" Alec growled and shook Daniel's shoulder, snapping him out of his shocked state. Then Daniel hopped to his feet, yanking me to mine and we followed my brothers out. Ducking into the backseat, I scooted over and sat in the middle seat, Daniel on my right, Brady on my left. Colin got into the driver's seat and Alec sat in the passenger's seat, twisting around to look at me.
Todd laid in my arms, playing with my hair, and frowning at me in confusion. Brady watched him, and saw when Todd pulled himself up to a sitting position and placed both hands on my face, looking worried.
"Colin, faster!" He shouted and I flinched. "Sorry," he muttered to me.
The car lurched forward and I was slammed back into my seat, clutching Todd even closer to me. Daniel hissed and I heard Colin mutter 'sorry' but I was too busy staring at my baby, tears forming in my eyes. When the first one fell, he wiped it away with his finger and stared at the wetness on his finger.
