I stood, going into the kitchen, leaving the commotion. Opening the fridge, I pulled out leftover meat loaf and popped the lid, stuck it in the microwave and waited for it to heat up. Digging for a fork, I looked up to see Daniel leaning against the doorway, holding a laughing Todd.
The microwave dinged and I opened the door, pulling out the container. Prying the lid the rest of the way off, I cut off some of the meatloaf, and placed it on a plate.
"Want some?" I asked him, and he nodded, stepping into the kitchen.
Dishing up his serving, I slid the plate across the island and handed him a fork. He started to eat but Todd was squirming in his arms, making it hard. Todd's arms were extended towards me and he was struggling to get to me.
Laughing, I held out my hands and Daniel gave him to me. I lifted Todd out of his arms and hugged him against my chest, before cradling him in one arm and eating with the other. Silently, Todd watched me eat and when I was finished he patted my face for attention and pointed to the counter. Carefully I set him on the counter and watched as he pulled his feet under him and stood, walking over to Daniel.
"Show off," I muttered to Todd and he laughed. Sending Daniel a look to watch Todd, I grabbed our empty plates and rinsed them, and then stuck them in the dishwasher. Turning back to my little family, I saw Daniel leaning on the counter watching Todd, who was running around, squealing with delight. I opened my arms and Todd hurtled himself into them, laughing.
Daniel walked around the island and placed one hand under my chin, kissing me deeply, while I held Todd and the back of my hips were pressed into the counter. Pulling back, he leaned his forehead against mine and chuckled.
"Finally, no worrying." He said softly.
"We're going to be okay," I replied and kissed him once more, before pushing him back a bit, and twining one hand with his.
We walked back into the living room, and everyone looked up at us. I was smiling and Todd was still laughing, and pointed at the coffee table. Rolling my eyes, I set him on it and he ran around, then back to me. Everyone was staring and he frowned at them, ducking his face into my neck.
"Todd?" My mom asked and he lifted his head to look at her. "You're a special boy."
"Definitely," I agreed and he looked back at me. Since he wasn't exactly a baby, I was holding him like you would hold a two year old. He was clinging to my neck, and my arm wrapped around his tiny waist holding him to my body.
Todd grinned at me and I realized that he had all of his teeth. Then he placed his head back against my neck and his long eyelashes tickled my neck. Daniel let go of my hand and walked over to the guys on the other side of the room, ignoring us girls.
"Ana, you look exhausted," My mom said, narrowing her eyes in concern at my face.
"Yeah, but I guess when you get woken up in the middle of the night, it's not too helpful on catching up on your sleep."
"True," She said and we laughed. I rubbed Todd's back and heard the little snore that came from him. I waved over my sisters and mom, and gently cradled Todd in my arms. They leaned in closer and I knew when they could hear him because their eyes widened.
"Aww!" My mom exclaimed quietly and my sisters echoed her.
The boys glanced over at us and their faces turned confused when they saw us all huddled together, staring at Todd, asleep in my arms. Courtney waved them over while Jenna held a finger to her lips, and the girls backed up so that the boys would be able to hear Todd's delicate snores. When they heard him, they rolled their eyes but Daniel looked at me smiling.
