"Hello Ana," he said and sounded exactly like before when I was trying to get him to understand that we were over.
"Um hey Sam, what are you doing here?"
"I needed to talk to you, but I didn't expect to find you in a house swarming with kids," he said his nose wrinkling.
"Then leave if you don't like it because this is my family, like it or not."
"No," he shook his head and stepped into the room. "This isn't your family, there are kids here Ana. You can't possibly have had that many kids, and in less than nine months!"
"Well..." I faded off and stepped back, away from him. The lights were off and I realized that he couldn't see James in my arms, drinking from my breast.
"Ana, this guy isn't right for you, come back to me," he pleaded and stepped forward again. "I remember it all again. I remember you, us."
"Sam, I thought I made myself clear? We are over, I don't want to see you again, please go away."
"No, you belong with me Ana. Please come with me and leave this kid infested place."
"No," I growled and he froze. He had crossed my mental line and I would not put up with jerks who insulted my babies.
"Damn it Ana! He got to you!"
"Nothing got to me Sam," I snarled at him and James finished feeding, turning his head to glare at Sam. I put him down on the couch and picked Averie up, cradling her as she drank. "I'm happier here than I ever was with you."
"Ana, don't say that."
"Why not, because you can see that it's true?" I asked him. He shook his head and was about to reply when Daniel walked in, holding Logan.
"Ana, Logan is hungry could you-" He froze when he saw Sam and his jaw clenched. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm talking to Ana."
Daniel looked at me and seemed to relax a smidgen when he realized that they could only see the outline of me because the light coming in through the window was hitting my back and covering the front of me in shadows.
"Has she asked you to leave?"
"No," Sam said at the same time that I said, "Yes."
"Get out," Daniel growled and Sam glanced from him to me.
"Fine," he spat and looked right at me. "I couldn't talk sense into her anyways. She needs to leave this kid infestation, it's probably tainting her mind."
Daniel froze and his spine jerked straight up. My fingers flexed away from Averie and I took a deep breath. Bianca walked in then, her hand on her stomach, eyes wide. She rushed over to me, knocking me back a pace to put herself in front of me as a barrier from my ex.
"Bianca?" Sam asked quietly, staring at us.
Daniel's jaw clenched and he looked away from me. I realized then that when Bianca practically shoved me out of the way, she had driven us both into the light. Now the boys could see the fronts of us, unlike before.
"Sam?" She asked and carefully stepped in front of me, but not before his eyes narrowed in on Averie feeding from me.
"She's your baby, Ana?" He choked out, stepping forward, and pushing Bianca aside staring down at her, then looked at James, and finally looking back at Logan who was glaring at him from Daniel's arms.
"Get away from her," Bianca growled and I saw her hands turn into fists, light seeping out from between her fingers.
"Bianca," I warned and she shook her head. Sam looked back and forth between us, stumbling backwards. Averie finished with a burp and then looked at Sam, her hands curling into little fists. "Daniel, trade me."
