I will put a // when suicide/self harm/harsh or suggestive language/graphic depictions of violence are mentioned.

(DAN'S POV)
I just stared at the ebony haired boy in shock of what I had heard. "Y-your...brother?" I asked again to make sure I heard that right.

"Yes." He answered dryly, unable to make eye contact with me, "But I don't think of him as family, he's just all I have considering my parents are rarely around."

I didn't know what to say then so I just put my hand on Phil's shoulder in efforts to comfort him, "Are you okay?" I was finally able to muster out.

//He chuckled slightly, "I should be the one asking you that." He retorted, "After all you were the one that was about to jump off of a bridge...you don't need to bother yourself with my problems."

I looked down again "I'm sorry."  I told him genuinely, with tears in my eyes.

Phil must've noticed because he then said "Dan? What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I assured him, wiping my eyes. He then gave me a look that showed he knew I was lying. "I just...I thought of my brother and how he would always stick up for me and comfort me, and hearing what you said, I realized that you don't have anyone to do that for you and I'm sorry."

The blue eyed boy gave me a small smile and said "Stop apologizing. It's nothing for you to worry about, also I have friends at school to keep me company during the day. Speaking of which, you should meet them, I think you'd like them." Phil added, clearly wanting to change the subject.

"I-I don't know." I said, biting my lip. I'd seen Phil's friends before, Pj, Chris, Zoe, Alfie, and Louise all seemed nice, but they were also very outgoing and extroverted, the exact opposite of me.

"Come on, don't be shy, they'll love you." Phil coaxed. "Please sit with us at lunch tomorrow!"

"Um...I...o-okay." I finally said, immediately regretting it. I didn't have many friends throughout my life and it was mostly because I could never maintain a relationship for more then a week without the other person getting bored with me.

//"Hey faggy, you home? I can see your stuff!" We both turned to the door, as there was a tall,  strawberry blonde, older boy standing in the doorframe, "Oh, did the little faggot bring another fag home with him?" The older boy asked amused at Phil's and my shocked reactions.

"Don't talk about him like that, Martyn." Phil told his brother sternly.

//"Oh and what are you gonna do about it, faggot?" Martyn retorted, clearly thrown off by Phil's sudden attitude towards him.

Phil just looked down at the floor, when I put my hand on his shoulder trying to comfort him. A tear fell down his cheek, and I realized that I wasn't the only one being victimized.
