You were cleaning your daughter's room on a rainy Sunday afternoon when you heard both of your children coughing. They caught colds and have been sick for two weeks straight.
"Mommy," your three year old son, Carl, called out for you from his room. You picked up your eleven month old daughter, Judith, and you walked into his room with Judith in your arms. He was coughing heavily when you walked into the room, trying with difficulty to keep his mouth covered.
"What's wrong baby boy?" You half whisper to him. You could see little pin pricks in his eyes.
"Hug." Carl stated as he held his arms out towards you. The thing about your children that you've noticed, they get very clingy and want to be held when they are sick. You shifted Judith into your left arm, laid down on the bed, and held Carl close to your right side. He snuggled into your side at the same time you were watching Judith slowly shut her eyes and fall asleep. You turned your head to look at your son. He lazily smiling at the sight of his baby sister sleeping on your chest. He gently took Judith's hand and Judith, in her sleep, clung to her big brother's hand. As Carl fell asleep in that same position, you kiss the top of his head.
"Get well soon sweethearts."
