"Mama, I tired." Your two and a half year old toddler says as he pressed his head against your lower thigh. You were in the kitchen making dinner for you and your young son. His father left you while you were five months pregnant.
"Why don't you go up to Mommy's room and wait for me, ok Ricky?" You suggest.
"Ok mama." Rick said as he slowly made his way to your room. You set the small table you had in your tiny living room. You checked on the food one last time before leaving the kitchen. You pulled your (h/t) (h/c) back into a messy pony tail before entering the room to see your two and a half year old sitting on the cushioned chair you kept by your bed. His eyes were filled with tiredness.
"Come lay down with me, baby."
You say as you pick him up and lay on the bed. Rick lies on top of you with his head in the crook of your neck.
"Get some sleep sweetie."
"I love you mama."
"I love you too baby boy."
