Loki's POV
A few minutes after Natasha had left the room a young woman with black hair walked in.
"So you're the one who Natasha has been watching." She said. "I've gotta say, taking over Earth, it's impressive." What!? Someone thinks that me trying to take over Earth is impressive?
"Did I mishear you or did you say 'impressive'?" I asked in shock.
"You heard me. Agent Barnes, but you can call me Kiara." Agent Barnes said nodding.
"Loki." I replied.
Natasha's POV
I walked into the lunch room and grabbed something to eat and drink. I had just finished eating when I got a message from Kiara.
-Hey did Fury tell you what Loki's punishment is?
-No, why? I texted back.
-Oh, you might want to ask him then. I got up and immediately walked to Fury's office.
Loki's POV
Kiara was sitting on the bench and was typing a message on her phone. She finished typing the message and turned her phone off and looked at me.
"What?" I snapped. I still didn't like anyone at S.H.I.E.L.D. except for Natasha.
"Natasha is probably storming up to Fury's office, demanding to know what your punishment is." Kiara replied.
"What's my punishment?" I asked. If I was staying on Midgard, I might as well know my punishment.
"Uh, I'm not sure I should tell you. But if you must know, I will." She took a deep breath and began to tell me what my punishment was.
Natasha's POV
I opened the door to Fury's office and found him sitting at his desk. He looked up and didn't look surprised to see me.
"Here to know what Loki's punishment is?" Fury already knew why I came.
"Yes. What is it?" I asked.
"Execution." He replied casually.
"What!? He's an innocent man!" I was shocked. Loki was to be executed!?
"Just because he told the truth about why he was here, does not make him innocent. May I remind you Loki tried to take over Earth?" Fury was getting really pissed off at me.
"He got beat up by The Hulk. I think that's punishment enough." I replied.
"Why do you care so much anyway?"
"I don't see why you're executing someone who is here by a form of punishment!" I turned and walked out of the office, slamming the door behind me. My break was over now, so I made my way back to Loki's cell. As I got closer I heard Kiara talking to Loki.
"I'm sorry, if I could change you punishment I would. Unfortunately, I can't override Director Fury's decision. I'm sorry." Kiara was saying. I silently opened the door and slipped inside the room.
"You told him?" Kiara and Loki both turned and looked at me.
"Yes, I had to. I'm guessing you know as well?" Kiara replied.
"Yes, Fury told me." I made eye contact with Loki. He looked scared but not the least bit of surprised. "How did he take the news?" I asked Kiara.
"I don't know, I just told him." Kiara told me. "Maybe you should talk to him. You're the only one he feels comfortable around." Kiara walked out the door. As I made my way over to Loki and Fury's question popped into my head. Why do you care so much? I had no idea why. Could I actually care for Loki?
"So what are your think about my punishment?" Loki asked.
"I think an innocent man shouldn't be executed for doing nothing." I replied. Loki sat down in his cell, leaning against the glass.
"Yeah, well maybe I deserve it." He sighed. "I did try to take over Midgard."
"You got beat up by Hulk. That's punishment enough." He looked at me.
"And did you tell Fury that?" I could see Loki was trying to figure out if I was actually being nice or if I was just doing my job.
"I sure as hell did. I don't really hide my opinions on things like this." I told him. "That's why I'm going to get you out of here."
"Will you now?" I spun around to see Kiara standing there with keys in her hand. "I came back to grab my phone and ask if you wanted to grab dinner later but it seems you have other plans."
"How long have you been standing there?" I asked.
"Long enough." Kiara replied.
"Please don't tell Fury." I begged her.
"I won't. In fact I'll be doing the exact opposite." I looked at her, confused.
"What are you saying?"
"That I will help you escape."
