Candace leaned over the toilet and pulled her long blonde hair back. She hurled once again and chunks of that nights dinner spewed out of her mouth.
"Babe. You've been there for thirty minuetes. You haven't thrown up like this since you were pregnant with Jack" Rick called out. "I'm fine, Rick " she replied, though she sounded far from convincing.
She hurled into the toilet bowl once again. She had been feeling like this all week. With constant headaches and her stomach constantly turning over in knots, the past week had become a blur of puking and chicken noodle soup.
Rick walked into the bathroom and bent over. "Candy. You really should go see a doctor". Candace pushed him away. "No, I'm fine. It's probably just a nasty bug I got at work". Rick defiantly stood up and folded his arms. "No, you're sick. And this is far from a small bug". Candace eyes shot daggers at Rick as she whipped her head around and quickly rising to meet his tender yet stern eyes. "Why can't you leave me alone, Richard. Why? I can do things for myself". She was growing more and more irascible by the second and her voice indicated a higher level of irritation than the level she normally exhibited. "Why don't you just get out of my face and let me do me? Is that so hard? Is it so hard for you to leave me alone"? A new anger flared within her eyes. Rick could see a monster was ready to come out, and he was far from prepared. "Candace" he stared, gently touching her elbow. He had barely uttered her name before a clawed hand scraped across his face, procuring four deep gashes on his face. Rick stumbled back, overwhelmed by the force of Candace ' s backlash. He began to fall backwards tripping over a bright red stiletto. Candace stood were she was appalled by her animalistic behavior. She watched as Rick's head made contact with the edge of sink. A loud crack resounded throughout the silent bathroom. Rick landed on the white floor, as blood poured from behind his head. Candace trembled, horrified and what she was witnessing. Rick's eyes stared blankly at her and his mouth opened as if to suck her inside. "Candy" he breathed. Candace knelt down beside, lifting his head up. Blood gushed from the back of his head and it stained Candace ' s hands as she tried to pull him closer to her. Tears were beginning to stream down her face. "Rick I didn't mean to do this. I'm sorry. Let me call the police. I'll get you to a hospital. Cmon let's go". No response. "Rick" Candace exclaimed. No response. She put her ear to his chest. No heartbeat. She turned over his wrist and placed her hand over it. No pulse. Candace dropped his lifeless head to the ground and stepped back. She gasped in horror and the tears began to waterfall down her face. She gaped at the blood that covered her hands and the white tile floor. She dropped to her knees and screamed.
