I left pretty soon after my conversation with Nathan, after checking in the bathroom that I didn't have anything in my teeth because all day I had been sure something was stuck in between my teeth and it had begun to get on my nerves. After walking the half mile to my house, I saw my mum's and dad's car was out and realised I was home alone. I opened my bag to find my home keys and realised I didn't have a clue were they where. It had been ages since I had had to let myself because my mum was almost always home. I got my phone out my bag and tried to turn it on. The screen stayed blank. I shook it, tapped it and pressed all the different buttons. Nothing changed. I put my bag on the ground and slumped on top of it, my back pressed to the front door and my legs out in front of me and I closed my eyes,  as I thought of the choices I had. I mean I could stay on the step for three hours but I really wasn't in the mood. I didn't have a working phone, I didn't have any books or anything and I sure as hell wasn't going to do my homework, so I had to think about whose houses I could turn up at. So we had like 4 choices ; My gran's, Nathan's, Tosia's  or Louise's. Okay maybe I can nail Louise of the list she is not necessarily the nicest individual in the world. So I guess I could try my Gran or Tosia. I wasn't going to go to Nathan, it was fine to go to someone's house for like an hour but for three? That is outstaying a welcome at it's max. So I guess that left me with Tosia or Gran and no offense to gran but Tosia's mum make the best placek z kruszonka.  I swear that coffee cake is heaven in cake form! So I decided to go to her house but first I had to get up and I can't tell you how hard that is, like seriously you don't realise how tired you are until you realise you have to walk for 30 minutes. Finally I got up and picked up my bag, flinging it on my back. This year I opted for a backpack, usually I get a shoulder bag but the amount of work I have got meant that I was just exhausted from carrying everything and my shoulder was becoming seriously seized up. I started walking fast as  I prefer a short walk than a long leisurely one and arrived at the park which was half way to Tosia. I decided to walk through it instead of around it which I usually did as it was nice weather and there was one thing I wanted to check. I go to the destination I was aiming and looked behind me. No one was around and I quickly attempted a runner up into the tree....and failed. I fell back, straight on my ass and scraped my elbow in the progress. I held my elbow to me and swore as loud as I could and made that weird "Ayyyahahhhhhh" noise that everyone makes when they hurt themselves. However I am not a quitter and attempted it again, this time going purely on body strength. I saw a low branch and put both arms around it, I then kicked of the tree and tried to pull myself onto the branch. This is I kinda succeeded on as now I was lying flat on it with my stomach  pressed to it. However this was only the beginning and only recently had I  attempted this on my own. I pulled myself along the branch until I reached the base of the tree and then put my arms around the next branch, this time feeling a bit more confidence because once I was in the tree I was okay (For now!) I managed after that and finally got to the part of the tree I had been looking for. I smiled to myself as I looked at the letters that were etched into the trunk. He had attempted to carve our names but he is not particularly artistic and the letters A, S, P, N and R are not that easy to carve so he eventually had decided against carving our initials and decided to just go with a simple arrow. He had just smiled to himself and wouldn't tell me what it meant when I asked, no matter how hard I pestered him.  Even now as I trace the shape I wondered what it meant. But I was more concerned about what I had noticed the last time I had been here. The arrow had become more decorated with vanes coming out of the straight lines of the arrow, meaning he had been here and had decorated it further. I wondered if this had anything to do with his weird mood at the moments, but the only clue or feeling I got was a feeling of nostalgia and a slight twang of regret which made me want to get out the tree and just go and see my best friend and eat my feelings. So I wriggled out the tree after a few false starts and picked up my bag, after brushing myself down and making sure no one was around still and walked fast towards Tosia's house. After another 10 minutes or so I saw her house and walked faster. I knew she was in as all the lights in the house were on even though it was probably only half 3 in the afternoon but her mum always had the lights on. I went round the back like I normally did and was greeted by her dog,  Smelly Pooch who was a 2 year old Husky who was gorgeous. I would be lying if I said that the things I looked forward to going to Tosia's house wasn't her dog and her mum's cooking. Obviously there was other reasons but they were pretty high on the list. I could hear her mum singing Kto rano staje in the kitchen, which is a traditional Polish Lullaby, meaning that she was probably doing the dishes or cooking. I went and opened the door and peered round and saw that I was right. Ayesha was doing the dishes and hadn't noticed I was even there. I decided not to give her a fright and knocked lightly on the door. She turned round and saw me, her face breaking into a smile. She quickly wiped her hands on the hand towel underneath her sink and came over and gave me a quick hug. "Your mum said you might be coming over because she had found your keys this morning after you had left hanging on the key holder!" I smiled and nodded "Yeah I forgot to bring them, it's just so weird now that Mum is back to working full time and I keep forgetting to grab them." Ayesha just smiled at me sympathetically and shouted on Tosia. She came running downstairs as soon as she heard her mum and I could here her jump 5 stairs at a time. Tosia wasn't one for going slow. She ran into the kitchen and ran to give me a hug. However she ended up banging her hip on the table and a string of curse words came out her mouth. However she still staggered towards and gave me a huge hug, slightly suffocating me. I gave a grin at her mum who was behind her and just raised my eyebrows. She gave me a grin as Tosia continued to cling to me like a sloth until finally she pulled away. She then just looked at me and grabbed my hand shouting behind her that she was taking me to her room. He mum just nodded her head, used to her impulsive daughter and went back to her dishes.
