Its pitch black, I'm standing here armed ready in school for the worst. So nothing new I guess, and worst of all it's a Monday! Jokes aside I'm standing here in the middle of a dark hallway, with what I believe is something that's out for my blood in the dark. My eyes are still adjusting to the light so until I can fully see again, I inch my way closer to the lockers next to me. Right when I was about to turn my back so I would have it against the locker I see something out of the corner of my eye. So I whip around as fast as possible, and make an attempt of throwing my backpack at it. It turns out it was closer than I thought so I ended up hitting it in the legs which is better than I could hope for, but that also means it's in arms reach of me. Now before I could let go of my bag fully it grabs my arm and tries to pull me down. In response I punched it in the face, many, many, times. It hurt like hell but who cares I managed to get free, and I immediately hit the ground running.
"Why is it they always fight back?" I heard it say, which didn't make me feel any better because its voice sounded all scratchy as if he was in the dessert for a long time. Point is it didn't sound human or friendly in the slightest so I started running even faster. I hit the doors and just barrel right through both of them. Now unfortunately I didn't really think my plan through cause I was going so fast in the heat of the moment that I forgot that there were stairs right out the doors.
"AHH!" I scream after completely falling down all the stairs, into the cement, on my arm. Now one I'm blind because dang the sun is bright, and two apparently this thing is something else because my arm and hand are completely bloody. Either way I'm not staying here to find out, I get up and get ready to run to my bus and low and behold it's not there. You know I should've expected that knowing my luck so far today, but who cares just means my life gets to be more difficult from here.
"Oh come on, I'm not going to hurt you. I only just want to talk." I heard that thing say, and from the tone of its voice I can tell it doesn't mean that, and either way I'm not going to listen to it period. So I just got a bright idea and I don't like it, but it could buy me some time.
"Hey I know we got off on the wrong foot, but yea let's talk meet me in front of the main doors." I shout back at the creature, now the doors are right to the left of me and behind a pillar or too so I'm hoping that will stall it a bit. So I take off in the opposite direction just taking me around the school and the quickest direction possible to my house.
*Loud music starts playing*
Now as I'm clutching my bleeding arm I hear my phone start going off. Well that's great it's not like I'm playing a game of hide and not die right now. Well I'll answer anyways I don't care who it is hopefully they can help.
"Hello?"
"Lance where in the world are you! You should've been home a while ago!" my mom screams through the phone.
"Oh hey mom, sorry about that I..."
"You better be sorry now where are you!"
"Umm, well I'm still at school do you think you could come pick me up right now, and possibly bring some bandages or something as fast as possible?"
"Yes, why is it are you ok?"
"Yea I'm just peachy mom, just a little drop and fall. Oh, yea did I mention that something is chasing me down trying to kill me, that could be some helpful information." I say a little louder than I originally intend to but as of this moment survival now, kindness later.
"What! Alright I'll be on my way as fast as possible, just stay safe honey."
"Yea, mom I will, I'll make sure to tell that to the thing that's chasing me, heck maybe we could all get some tea while we're at it." I start screaming into the phone, but I don't know if you can tell but I'm just having one of those days.
*call ends*
"Hello? Mom you still their? Wow, she just hung up on me! Huh, didn't expect that but I didn't expect any of this either so yea." I say to myself kind of stunned.
Well I better start running faster now after that mess." I say to myself as I begin running faster than I have ever done before.
