Ch.12 That Thing

Lian's POV

I gulp. He looks scary.

"D-did I do s-something wrong?" I stammered.

"You should watch where you're going De Guzman! What if you fell! What if you bump into other boys! Do you think they would catch you!!?" He yelled still holding me, then help me stand up properly. His arm is still around my waist. We're so close at each other. Actually this is already hugging! I could still feel the warmth and his hard chest. That's how close we are right now.

"I-Im sorry.." My heart beats really fast. I blushed then look down. I bit my lower lip. He then sigh.

"Just watch where you're going next time okay? You made me worried." He said calmly while whispering the last part. I looked up to meet his gaze but he then looked at the other side. As I stared at him, I saw how he really do look worried. He then put strands of my hair behind my ear with his other hand since his other arm is still around my waist holding me close. I smiled at him, but he got that cold face with him again but he's showing me a bit of care now, not totally unreadable.

"So, what's wrong?"

"Huh?"

"You looked like you're in deep thought, is something wrong?" I just stared blankly at him. Then I look down. He holds my chin and made me look at him slowly. Damn. The eyes to eyes again. My heart beats real fast. I couldn't help the heat spreading on my cheeks.

"De Guzman." He whispered. I wanna be strong and independent. But I don't want to be like a lost cat in that City.

"Smiiiiittttthhhh." I whined. Couldn't help it anymore. Then I hold his hand which is in my chin. Again his other arm is still hugging me close. Not planning to let go i guess.

"There was this thing and they want me to be with that thing and that thing is far and I haven't been there and I don't know what to do because I don't know anyone to be with to go to that thing!" I said real fast like someones chasing me. He raised a brow. I was panting a bit.

"And that thing is?"

"That thing!!! Exactly!" He just stared at me. But now with an amused look. His lips then protruded trying to hide that smirk and trying to look serious.

"Explain again. And this time be specific. You talk too fast and only 'that thing' is the only word I could understand."

I bit my lower lip and nod. He then pulled me by my waist closer to him as he step back and leaned on the wall but it has an open window on it that is why he rested his other arm there. This position is kind of.. intimate. If my face was red awhile ago. I don't know how red I am right now.

I explained to him my problem. He was very attentive though. He nod and stood up straight.

"S-Smith.."

"Don't worry. We'll just go together." He said. I look at him with a questioning look. "I'm the representative of our department also." My eyes widen.

"R-Really!?" I asked and he nod. This is great! I won't be alone! A bright smile formed on my lips.

"Really Really!?" I confirmed. He then chuckled a bit and bit his lips.

"Really Really."

This is such a good news for me!! Other than the fact that I won't be alone, he'll be there too! Then I jump up and wrapped my arms around his neck, hugging him really tight. I felt him froze on his spot.

"Yeeeeeyyyyy!! Thanks Smith. I really don't know who to be with. I won't be alone anymore. Also since I'm not really familiar to Benville city." I cheerfully said. I broke the hug then ran away. I still need to change for my OJT.

"Thank you so much Smith!" I yelled while both of my hands up in the air. I look back at him and saw him still standing straight. His mouth half open. I stopped a bit.

"Smith?" I tried to call out. He then closed his eyes and lick his lower lip then he cocked his head my way. His eyes shows a bit of danger in it but not a bad danger, and aside from that there's something I couldn't quite name on it but something I know of.

"So you and Alexander will go together?" Mich asked and I nod. We're in a cafeteria right now since all of the OJT students of Architecture was called earlier.

"Wow!" Julie said.

"He just pity me that's all.. I guess" I told them.

"Lian, he likes you!" Mich said.

"What! That's impossible. I mean look at me I'm not even pretty and he's handsome. I bet he likes girl who is sexy and beautiful than me."

"Lian you're beautiful. You're just humble." Mich said.

"Im sure he-" they cut me off

"Lian!" Both of them glared at me.

"Stop downgrading yourself."

"Your beautiful if you only know. That long straight brownish hair of yours, your beautiful eyes, your fair skin, your-" I cut her off

"Okay okay, thanks I get it"

"But seriously Lian, if you only read the school blog you will see how much Alexander change since you two started hanging out." Julie explained.

"Changed?" I asked and they nod. Mich took out her phone and showed it to me. I loom at it.

Alexander Smith. The campus hottie from the Engineering Department has  been acting strange lately since he's been together with Lian De Guzman. It was said by one student that he smiled at Lian De Guzman while walking together. And became more less serious and cold than before. See his picture! Scroll down

I saw pictures of us in the corridor, him smiling while staring at me while I'm eating some chocolate, and there's other pictures of us together also. He's so handsome when he is smiling. I didn't notice that I was smiling while looking at our pictures together. I look at my friends and they're grinning at me. I bit my lower lip.

"Love is in the air!"

"Someone's in love people!!"

They both yelled. I can feel myself blushing, as student stopped and look at our direction.

"No I'm not!" I defended myself.

"We didn't said it was you! So defensive." Mich said. I stood up and ran away. I can hear them laughing and calling my name. Well so much for being my friend.

"De Guzman."

I look behind and saw Alexander. Walking towards my direction while his hands are on his pockets. With a plain white shirt and denim jeans, he looks really attractive. The necklace is hidden in his shirt. He still got that cold and serious look of him.

"Prepare your stuff already, so by next day we're ready." He said and I nod. He then pat my head then walk away. His friends are also with him and they're smiling at me. I hold my head, where he patted me.

He really likes to pat my head. But I like it though.

I just wanted you to know that Benville is just a made up place, i don't really know if it does exist. everything in the story are just made up, like the hotels, the events and places. Well I know you already know that.
