Ch.15 Friends

Lian's POV

"To all the representatives of other school, as the facilitator of this event, I'm here to welcome each one of you to Construct for the Future event. We are glad that all of you are here to be with us with our event project. To our future professionals we hail." Then everyone clap. "Our firm have organized this project so that we will enhance your skills and may discover your capabilities and share it with others. We are all in different courses from different schools. But we will be united because of this event. Remember we construct our own future!" He continued. The opening ceremony goes on.

After the opening ceremony we are all asked to stand up. "Group yourselves by your courses and then we can start our project after."

I look at Alexander who is sitting beside me. He was looking at his surrounding like he's extracting some ideas.

"Smith.."

"Its okay. I'm just here. Don't worry our group is near each other." He huskily said as he hold my hand, then smiled at me. Giving me assurance. I just nod feeling a bit down. I'm not really good at being friendly with others. He gave my hand a gentle squeeze before letting it go.

I walk to my course which is on the side that has big Architect logo in the side.

"This is really boring.." the girl beside me whined.

"I know it's really boring." Then she looked at me. I smiled at her and she smiled at me too. "Hi im Lian from the E.S.U." I said as I held my hands to her. I'll try being friendly. I hope I wont get rejected or get snob. She look at my hand for awhile. I thought that she won't accept it but she did.

"Im Kim from the Verdon University."

After that we started talking. Wow I gain new friend. I never thought I would get one. We talk about our school, our family, and about her boyfie that is in the same school as me.

"So your bf is in the E.S.U also?" I asked and she nod smiling. "Wow! What's his name?"

"Nick! His name is Nicko Lacson." She squealed. Nick, Nick Nick Nick. Where did I hear that name again? "Do you know him?" She asked I frowned and shook my head. "He's popular. He is one of the basketball varsity team!" My eyes widen. I remember now. Alexander's friend. "But sad to say his friends don't know me"

"What, but why?"

"Well I told him not to tell others yet. Not until next week." I just nod. I think its important so I didn't bother to ask. Then suddenly I felt someone tap my shoulder. I look at my back and Alexander was there. The event just ended, and I didn't even notice.

"So lets go now?" Alexander said. I look at Kim who is shaking her head telling me not to tell him. I think Alexander notice it though.

"What is it?"

"H-huh.. ah nothing hehe" I look at both of them while fake laughing. Kim shook their head, while Alexander raised a brow.

"You're really bad at lying." Alexander said and I just bit my lower lip.

"Looks like it." Kim agreed. I just pout at their comment.

"I don't really mind if its a girls secret." Alexander then hold my hand. I opened my palm, then our fingers interlocked. Kim stared at our interlocked hands.

Heat spread in my cheeks at that. I look at Alexander who still has that cold and stoic face of his. But then his lips protruded.

"Okay lovebirds I'll just go first. See ya Lian!" She just sashayed her way out.

"B-bye!"

"To the left! To the left!" I shouted.

"Okay! Okay! Just be quiet your disturbing others." Alexander chuckled while looking behind me. I look at the back and saw people staring at us and they're smiling. I could hear them talk to each other though.

"They look cute together."

"The guy is so handsome! Too bad he's already taken."

"Bro the girl is really cute."

They whisper to each other. We're in the arcade right now since we're not yet ready to go back to the hotel because for sure its really boring in there. I just sighed. Whenever you're in the middle of the crowd, it's really annoying.

"Do they even know how to whisper?" I whisper to my self.

"You're bad at whispering too you know." I look at Alexander and glared at him. He didn't see my glare though because he's busy in that machine.

"I am not."

"Yes you are. You just whispered earlier and it's really loud." Loud! Thats already over acting.

"Hey." I look at Alexander. "Lets eat dinner in that restaurant." He pointed outside. I look at that restaurant. They sell chocolate parfait!

"Yummy!!!" I squeeled. He then chuckled.

"I'll take that as a yes. Lets go." Then we walk out of the arcade.

"Good evening ma'am, sir! How may I help you?" A waitress. I think she's in her 30's wow.

"Table for two pls" Alexander said.

"Couples?"

"H-huh!!" I stammered. What us? But if you think about it. He's a boy and I'm a girl. What would the other people think when we're together. And him as my boyfriend? I can't help but blush. Tingling feeling in my tummy is back. I looked at him. I just smile at my own thought. Sounds great.

"No we're just friends." He said. That hurt.. Wait hurt? I dont even like him, I think. But him saying that is really.. I've got that sinking feeling.

The waitress nod.

"This way sir." then she lead the way. She took us at a table for two with some rose in it. It looks like.. blood run up to my cheeks as I thought about it. This is a couples table. But the  I remembered what he said earlier. I smiled bitterly as we sat down.

After she took our orders she walk away. I didn't bother to look at Alexander. But I could feel him staring at me though. Should I even act like this? Maybe I'm really obvious huh?

I'll just pretend like it's nothing. Yes. Just that. It's just really nothing.

I took a peek at him. Geezz! I really cant get over it whenever he stares at me. He's staring at me intently. It's like he's weighing my reactions again.

"H-Huh, what is it?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Nothing." Then he look away and shook his head.
