Ch. 21 Get to know

Third Person's POV

When Alexander woke up the next day. He then look around only to find no sign of Lian in the room. He took the cloth which is on his forehead and throw it in the bowl of lukewarm water on his bedside table. He felt down after realizing that Lian is not beside him after waking up. He even ask her not to leave last night. But where is she now?

Alexander then walk out of his bedroom. He checked the living room, but it was empty. He went to the kitchen, still no sign of Lian. It was Sunday so she doesn't have any class or something. It was a free day for both of them.

Frustrated he went to take a lukewarm bath to soothe his nerves. Surprisingly his temperature went down already. Lian taking care of him really did something. He smiled as he remembered how he hold her in his arms last night. How she cooked for him. How she took care of him. But after asking her to stay, she still left the next day. A bitter feeling rush up within him.

He went out of the shower while brushing a cloth on his hair not minding his surrounding. But after a step he suddenly bump into a figure. He opened his eyes and was surprised to find Lian standing in front of him while rubbing her nose.

"Hey be careful!" She squeaked still rubbing her nose. "And where have you been! I was so worried. You're not in the bed, and not in the living room and kitchen also-" but before Lian could finish her sentence, Alexander then pull her towards him and engulfed her in a tight hug.

"That was supposed to be my line." He murmured as he buried his face on her shoulder then to her neck. "I thought you left.." his voice croaked a bit. Lian could feel herself blushing again. Her heart beats really fast, and Alexander's hot breath on her neck is not really helping.

"I just bought some fruits and other ingredients for our breakfast.." Lian said softly and hugs him back. She noticed that he's temperature is not that hot anymore. She smiles. But then she noticed him being fresh and just came out from a bath. She suddenly feel insecure on her state right now. She still wore the same clothes last night.

"W-wait.. I haven't took a bath yet. I'm still dirty.." she let go of him and made some distance between them. Alexander look at her cute reddish face.

"I prepared a clothes for you last night in the bathroom counter. I thought you might wanna take a bath." His husky voice pass through her ears.

"I was embarrassed to use it.." she looked away. Since Alexander being in a thin white towel is not good. He then grinned at her and move closer to her face.

"My baby is shy huh?" Lian then look at him and smacked his arm. "You can take a bath now. Or if you want, I could do it for you, hmm?" Alexander teased her more, which earned him another smack on the arm from Lian.

"Alexander you ass!!" Lian then ran towards the bathroom. Alexander then burst out laughing. Only her could make him this happy. The past few days without being by her side is really sorrowful and a gloomy state for Alexander. Those few weeks for him felt empty. He never approached Lian after that event because he was blaming himself for it. He became a coward, and seeing her pain in that park really hurts for him and he knows he's the reason for that.

After showering, Lian took the clothes in the bathroom counter and change immediately. She feels shy walking around in a towel only in Alexanders room.

She went out of the bathroom, then she smell a food, someone's in the kitchen. Lian then went outside until she found Alexander in front of the stove. He's the one cooking. It was an interesting sight for Lian, she didn't know that Alexander could cook, but then he's still recovering from fever, he shouldn't working too much yet.

"You should rest! Let me cook, that's the reason why I'm here anyway. I should be the one taking care of you.." Lian said as she tried to get the spatula from Alexander.

"I'm fine. I don't have fever anymore, and besides, I'm not that weak you know." Alexanders' bedroom voice is really distracting. Lian gets captivated just by his voice. She just didn't mind what he said and look at the stove to see what he's cooking. There were onions and peppers in it.

"Just sit there for a while and I'll do the cooking. You might cook an unhealthy meal." Lian then hold his hand and pulled him to the kitchen counter.

"But I wanna help." Alexanders' lips then protruded. Lian just bit her lips, how could this man be hot and cute at the same time, she thought. She then get the blender and the watermelon which is already cut into mini cubes, then gave it to him.

"Here. Make a watermelon shake for both of us then. Got it? No more other work for you."

"Yes ma'am!" Alexander nodded at her then smiled boyishly.

This might keep him busy. Making watermelon shake is not that hard right? The ingredients are already prepared, he just needs to sit there and put the ingredients in the blender. Lian then walk towards the stove and started cooking Tofu Scramble.

After eating they're already in the living room watching a movie while drinking their remaining shake. Lian look at her side to find Alexander really close to her again, his arm is resting on the sofa behind her, and their thighs really shows no distance. He's been clingy since last night when she cried in his chest. She's not complaining though, she just felt giddy.

"Uhm.. how about we get to know each other?" She mumbled. Alexander took a side glance at her and raised a brow. "I-I mean, we've been hanging out more often lately and we haven't talk about ourselves and-"

"Okay okay we'll get to know each other." Alexander chuckled, cutting her off. "So how do you plan to start?"

"How about we introduce ourselves and ask questions if there's some missing piece that doesn't feed your curiosity?" He suggested. Lian blinked at him.

"That's even better!" She giggled. "I go first! So.. I'm Lian Fhey De Guzman. I'm 22 years old. I was born in New York. But I'm staying in Saldiva Towers. My father is Italian and my mother is Chinese. I have a brother, he's in New York right now accompanying dad in his business, since he's going to to take over it soon. Uhm.. we have a real estate company, that is why I want to be an architect.
I love chocolates and.. I guess that's it?"

"What unit in Saldiva towers? how about a boyfriend or ex? What kind of men are you looking for?" He tilt his head to the side. Lian just blushed at his questions.

"R-room L-344 it's on the 2nd tower on the 15th floor. Uhm.. almost no boyfriend since birth.. I like men who could tolerate my childishness, I'm not that matured you know. I also like those who would always be there for me. That's all.." Lian then felt her cheeks getting hot. But something caught Alexanders' attention.

"What do you mean by almost no boyfriend?"

"Huh? Oh it's nothing we just didn't work out.. haha he found another girl haha" Lian keeps on laughing like an idiot, Alexander saw the pain pass through her eyes, he then wrapped his arms around her. "It's just nothing Alexander haha really. But it's your turn now." Lian started to calm herself. Alexanders warmth is really something. She leaned her head on his broad shoulder as she breath in his manly scent.

"Alexander Cross Smith. I'm 26 years o-"

"26!!!??? What!??" Her eyes wide and mouth dropped on the floor. Alexander just bit his lips, he somehow knows this would be her reaction.
