Eve looked up from her paper. Everyone was looking at her. While she was deciding which plan to take to talk to Mr. Adam, she totally forgot that she was in class. Mrs. Phoenix looked annoyed at her from her desk.
"The answer is?" asked Mrs. Phoenix
Eve looked confused "What was the question"
"Ugh" Everyone mumbled
"Number 7 Miss Saguaro" she ordered
"Oh.....um.......number seven" she flipped through her textbook "what page"
"120 miss Saguaro" she seemed annoyed
"Uh right" Eve looked down at the questions. She didn't understand a thing. Question seven! How to defuse a bomb? What?
"Um if you don't mind Mrs. Phoenix, but I know the answer" piped in Raven
"No let her answer it"
"Help" Eve whispered to Amber
Amber nodded. She lip read Amber.
"And that's how you defuse a bomb" Eve finished
"Well done Saguaro. Don't drift off next time" she snapped
"No my lady" Eve automatically responded
"Now let's go over the lesson" and it went on and on till the bell rang. Eve looked down at her schedule. Thirty minutes till dinner. Then two hours till lights out. She decided to go to Mr. Adam's classroom anyway. She had to talk to someone.
Kids rushed to their rooms or the cafe hall. Eve stayed back a little. She also tried avoiding Raven as much as possible. Once she was the last person, she ran for the door. A hand stopped her way out.
"Going so soon miss Saguaro" purred Mrs. Phoenix
"To dinner my lady" she responded without hesitation. She planned this might happened and was prepared for it.
"But we need to talk" Mrs. Phoenix insisted
"About what" Eve calmly replied in a question
"Well I was worried. You seem a bit jumpy. You seem uneasy. I mean it is my responsibility to attend to all the kids needs"
"Oh no my lady. I'm fine. I was just a little home sick. That's all" Eve falsely explained to her
"Mm well then. I shouldn't be holding you in here anyways. Go ahead and get to supper" she motioned her hand to the door. Eve quickly got up. She ran out the door before her teacher could change her mind.
"Somethings wrong with her. I know it, but I can't put my finger on it. I'll find out soon" Mrs. Phoenix whispered to herself. She would always sniff out when somethings going on, but this time was different. She had no idea.
Eve walked to Mr. Adam's room. She looked through the tiny rectangular window. It was really dark in the room, but she knocked anyways. There was a pause then no answer. Great she thought. She knocked one more time to make sure. This time the door cracked opened.
Eve cautiously stepped inside the room. She looked around for Mr. Adam. He was no where in the room. But Eve couldn't really see. She felt around for a switch or lamp.
While she was looking around she noticed the white walls. She saw the same seats her and Matt sat in. She quickly saw a lamp on his desk. She walked towards it. Then she switched it on, but instead of a normal light, out came a purple like light that revealed writing on the walls and desks. At the cafe hall
"Hey Matt. Have you seen Eve" Amber asked him in the hallway
"Not since first half of school" he answered blushing a little. Every time someone mentioned Eve's name, it reminded him of Eve's face when she found out what he was doing. Why am I so stupid. Why do I mess everything up.
"Do you have any clue where she might be at the moment" she questioned
"No. I have no clue" he leaned against the hall wall
"I wanted to talk to her because she was acting a little weird in class today. She seemed scared. Worried maybe? I don't know. She was just odd" Matt took in what Amber said. Weird? Did I do something that bad? Is she scared I ruined her life?
"Well see you later Matt" waved Amber as she walked away to her friends
"Ok. Bye" Matt waved back. The Mr. Adam walked up to Matt next
"Hey Matt. Have you seen Eve"
"No! Why does everyone think I know where she is" he scoffed
"Oh I just wanted to see if you knew. I asked everyone. I need to talk to her" he told Matt
"Well I don't know where she is" Matt walked away
"Maybe I should check my room" he mumbledBack at the classroom
"What the fudge cakes and ice cream balls is this mess" Eve whispered speechless
The purple light revealed white writing posted all over the walls. On the front wall Eve could see an exact drawling of the necklace. Under it was a date from hundreds of years ago. With information of it from five years ago.
"He didn't have a hunch. He knew this was going to happen. Five years ago he knew" she gasped
The wall read: Miss Vanessa's gold and silver medallion was given to her by her father James Quentin the third on her twelfth birthday. Legends say when her father died, she made a promise that she will never take off the necklace in a sign of not letting go of her father. One day she met a young lad named Alex Fox. They fell in love as any stories go. One day he proposed to her with a locket.
She took off her necklace and put on the locket. She put the necklace in a box. She put it on a shelf in her closet never again to be opened. Over the years and years of sadness it went through it finally got discovered by one of our own huntresses, the twentieth daughter in the family tree. Her name was Sun.
She was visiting her ancestors tomb when she discovered a box. She saw the necklace and put it on. Not knowing the ghost of her past ancestor had written a curse on it in silver ink. It told:
The one who promises
Must keep it
The one who gives pain
Must feel it
The one who loves
Must abuse it
The one who lets it go
Must take it back
Accept the fate
And break the promiseShe put on the necklace and promised to never take it off. And like the other poor girl, feel in love. The same happened. He proposed to Sun with a necklace. So when her fiancé tried to take off the necklace, it sent voltage running through there bones. She collapsed into a coma. The kingdom pointed at her fiancé for it. They sent him to prison. Her fiancé died shortly after he hung himself. The following week she woke up. They had to tell her that her love died.
She was so upset, so enraged, she started attacking people. Using the necklace's power to create fire, water, nature, and air. She had the power of creation and life. She could do anything.
Eve looked at the next wall. It said:But she felt sad. She wanted to get rid of the powers. She didn't know the only way to break it was to pass it on. Truly letting it go. That's what she had to do.
So she did. To her daughter and after that. Until one huntress who denied passing it on. She died wearing it.
Eve looked around. It continued. The first conspiracy was that there would be a chosen one. No one knows when she will be chosen or where.
Eve gasped "Chosen one"
The chosen one will most likely be a girl, brown hair, come with Bailee, and she'll be part of this school.
"That's spot on" she whispered
The next wall had pictures. It was a drawing of Eve perfectly from two years ago. It said: what the girl was mostly going to look like. The next wall had a recent file. From yesterday actually.
It read: new girl finally comes. She seems to have already made a promise. Does she already know? Must not risk! Ask questions! Tuesday! Why do I think Tuesday? Somethings going to happen Tuesday! Must tell her! Then it's just scribble. He must have been distracted by his thoughts.
But now I know for sure, he knows. Somethings going down Tuesday. I can't tell anyone. Should I? Me the chosen one though! Why me? I'm just a kid! Why am I so attention grabbing?
Then she heard a crack. She didn't want to turn around out of fear. Then someone's cold hand grabbed her.
