Ronnie's POV~

I hate flying. I always have. There is no way that a giant steel tube can safely and gracefully navigate the skies above our heads.

It's even worse when you're seated between two under-cover police officers who didn't even have the decency to give me the window seat.

"Can I go pee."

The officer in the aisle seat, Deputy Payne, simply rolled his eyes at me before unbuckling his seat belt and sliding into the aisle, allowing me room to maneuver out of my middle seat.

I gave him a sickly sweet smile as I made my way towards the bathroom which was, thankfully, unoccupied.

Quickly, I turned and closed the door, bolting the lock in place before spinning around looking in the mirror.

Truthfully, I didn't actually need to pee. I just didn't want to sit between Payne and Officer Way any longer. The silence was getting to me and the wouldn't let me use my headphones, as apparently my music is too loud for the two of them to handle.

Who the hell doesn't like Green Day?!

Officer Way did promise to give the headphones back after we land. In like, 3 more hours. But then again, in 3 more hours, I do get to see my favourite Auntie and cousin. I haven't seen them in a few years since my dad moved us out of state after my mothers death. He was never the same after that. I can vaguely remember hearing my dad and my auntie screaming at each other over the death while my cousin and I cowered in the hallway cupboard. That's my last ever memory that I have with them. I remember how close I was with my auntie and my cousin. My auntie was like a second mother to me, and my cousin like the older sibling I never had. It broke my heart when dad packed us up and made me leave them without saying a proper goodbye.

After a few more minutes there was a knock on the toilet door. I realised that I had possibly stayed in here for a bit longer than Deputy Payne would have liked.

"Miss Renee, I think you have been in there long enough."

I rolled my eyes at Deputy Payne's words before straightening out my unnaturally brown hair with ombre blonde tips before flipping my hair over my shoulders and opening the door.

"It's Ronnie. Not Renee."

I sent him a quick glare before heading back to my seat where Officer Way sat, his chin resting against his chest as a loud snore erupted out of his mouth.

Deputy Payne nudged me into the seat before sitting down next to me and picking up his book that he had carefully discarded before coming to find me. I rolled my eyes again as I buckled the seat belt back up and reclined my seat before following Officer Way's footsteps and getting some shut eye before landing.

~~~~~
Before I knew it, Deputy Payne was shaking my shoulder in an attempt to wake me up as the plane was about to touch down. Yawning, I sat up and put my seat back into the correct up-right position as I prepared for the heavy bump that was to come as the planes wheels touched the tarmac.
A quick glance out the window next to Officer Way showed me a glimpse of my home town. Walking through the terminal after exiting the plane and I can already tell that so much has changed in the past nine years. My red suitcase trailed behind me as I took in my surroundings, not forgetting that the two cops were right behind me, one carrying another suitcase of mine and the other with a backpack.
The arrival lounge doors opened up before me, giving me a view of all the families and friends awaiting their loved ones. In the middle of the crowd I managed to spot a 'welcome home' sign, held up by my auntie who had a massive grin spread across her face.
