All of us sat around the fire, enjoying it and laughing. Although I was still kind of quiet, I was getting more comfortable as I laughed with the others and Tyce continued to be friendly.
Eventually, after Brooke and Chloe had turned in for the night, and Izzie and Paisley decided to do the same, Hadley came over and sat next to me. Tyce was busy helping Jordan and the other guys put away the food we had gotten out.
"So...it looks like you're having a nice time," Hadley winked, looking at me expectantly.
"Uh yeah," I replied, watching as the flames slowly started getting smaller and smaller.
"He's super cute," she whispered, jerking her head in Tyce's direction. I smiled, which told her all she needed to know.
"Just don't start fangirling," I joked, poking her in the side. She giggled.
"I'm already shipping you two," she said. I lowered my voice.
"Who knows if he even swings this way," I whispered, almost looking for a reassurance of the possibility from Hadley. She shook her head, grinning from ear to ear.
"Well with the way you two have been flirting all evening, it's definitely a possibility," she told me, poking me back. My face flushed. "Awe look at you!" She said in a babyish voice.
"Shut up," I said, swatting her hands away as she tried to grab my cheeks, causing her to laugh some more.
"Anyone notice how creepy it is going to that gross outhouse at night?" April exclaimed as she approached us, sitting next to Hadley.
"It's not that bad," I told her half heartedly. If there was one thing I hated here, it was that outhouse. Hadley chuckled while April sat there pulling faces and shuddering.
"Alright, I think everything is good for the night," Sam announced as he reappeared with the rest of the guys. Tyce stood next to me.
"Good, because I'm tired," Zaiden replied, yawning.
"Well we've had a long day with the drive," Alex said yawning himself.
"Okay well I'm off," said April, standing up. Hadley joined her since they were sharing a tent.
"Goodnight Grif," she told me with a smile.
"Night Hadley," I replied.
"We'll see ya in the morning!" Jordan said over his shoulder as they all started making their way with flashlights back to their tents. Tyce looked down at me.
"Are you tired?" He asked quietly. I nodded.
"Me too," he said, as I stood up. I guess he figured since it was my tent he didn't feel comfortable just doing what he wanted, but I didn't say anything. We walked tiredly over in the darkness, me leading the way with the flashlight. I unzipped the flap and slipped inside with Tyce right behind me.
I was suddenly feeling self conscious again, because I was sharing a tent with the hottest guy here, which means he'd see me at my worst, complete with bed head. I hated bed head. Tyce was preoccupied with finding his stuff in his bag so I took the opportunity to find a hat and lay it out next to the mattress for tomorrow morning.
Then another thought occurred to me, how was I gonna change clothes? I didn't wanna sleep in the dirty clothes that I wore around outside all day, but then, Tyce was here and I didn't really change in front of other people. For some, it wasn't a big deal, but for me, I didn't like it all that much.
As I found the clothes I wanted and was thinking about what to do, I suddenly was aware that Tyce was half naked. I tried not to totally stare at him while he changed his clothes but I'll admit, I couldn't keep my eyes away. I kept trying to glance inconspicuously. I hurried to change before he was no longer distracted and slipped my joggers off, quickly slipping shorts on and climbing under the blankets. I peeled my shirt off just as Tyce was settling into his sleeping bag.
"I had fun today," he said in the dim light of the moon. I turned on my side so I was facing away from him. The last thing I wanted was for him to be freaked out or weirded out by me.
"Yeah, me too," I replied.
"Goodnight Griffin," he said.
"Night Tyce," I replied. As soon as I closed my eyes I was out like a light.
I opened my eyes suddenly and could immediately tell it was early in the morning because the tent was still somewhat dark. The grey light meant the sun was still a little ways from rising completely.
I looked over at Tyce who was sound asleep on his stomach with his arms above his head, his bare shoulders visible before the rest of his body disappeared underneath his sleeping bag. He looked so peaceful with his head turned to the side on his pillow. I noticed that he had long dark eyelashes and he looked even more adorable asleep than he did awake, as if that were even possible.
I didn't want him to suddenly open his eyes and catch me staring at him while he slept like some sort of creeper, but I couldn't help it. I slowly became aware of the reason I woke up so early. I needed to pee. Tyce was laying in front of the flap though and I'd have to unzip it and maybe wake him if I tried to go outside. So I held it and tried to go back to sleep.
I hadn't even realized I'd fallen back asleep when some rustling woke me out of my slumber. I blinked my eyes a couple times and realized I was facing away from Tyce again, but I could tell he was awake and moving around slightly. Suddenly, the sound of the zipper caught my attention and the rustling stopped as I heard his footsteps faintly outside. I rolled onto my back and sighed, still feeling sleepy. I needed to pee badly by this point though so I hurried and slipped on a shirt and changed into some sweatpants and grabbed my hat and followed Tyce outside.
The air was cool and brisk this early in the morning. The sun appeared to be about to peak over the horizon, but the trees were still blocking it out. I looked around for Tyce but couldn't see him, so I set about finding a private spot behind some trees.
I quickly did my business and then made my way back to camp. I walked back to the tent, figuring I'd just lay down for a while since nobody else appeared to be awake.
I slipped back inside the tent leaving it unzipped in case Tyce came back in. A couple minutes later he poked his head inside, probably checking to see if I was still asleep. I had my eyes closed.
"I'm awake," I said without opening my eyes, feeling his gaze on me. He chuckled a little.
"Good morning," he greeted, entering the tent and laying on his back on top of the sleeping bag. I was keenly aware that he was shirtless, and I took a mental snapshot of his chest. Oh. My. God. He was perfectly toned and had just a light dusting of chest hair along with a delicious looking happy trail that disappeared under the waistband of his black shorts. I could only hope I wasn't drooling. "I didn't wake you did I?" He asked. I shook my head.
"No I actually woke up before you," I replied, opening my eyes to look at him.
"You were? You sure looked asleep," he said, giving me a questioning look.
"I must've fallen back asleep," I told him, my voice still sleepy. He nodded in understanding.
"Do you think anyone else is awake?" I wondered. He shook his head.
"If they are, they haven't come out of their tents."
I looked around at my bag on the floor next to the mattress.
"I'm gonna go down to the spigot and brush my teeth," I said, opening my bag and grabbing my toothbrush and toothpaste.
"Mind if I join?" He asked thoughtfully.
"Not at all," I chuckled, slipping out of the tent again. Tyce followed close behind a minute later and we walked quietly down towards the water spigot so as not to wake anyone else.
"Aren't you cold?" I asked Tyce as we got to the spigot, setting my toothpaste on a nearby log. He still hadn't put on a shirt, and in some ways I was grateful for the view, but damn it had me flustered.
"Nope," he said, popping the 'p.' "I told you I'm like always warm." I made a mental note to remember that one. I smiled as I handed him the toothpaste and turned on the water, putting my brush in my mouth.
