His truck was really comfortable, and the all grey interior was very nice looking too. Tyce climbed in the drivers side and pulled the door closed as he inserted the key into the ignition and turned it, starting the engine. He looked over at me with a small grin and buckled his seat belt. I already had mine fastened and was ready to go, watching him out of the corner of my eye as he put his one arm above my headrest and looked behind him as he backed the truck out of the parking space, his other hand on the wheel. The muscles in his arm flexed as he moved them and I found myself wanting to drool. I mentally slapped myself.

As we drove off and exited the apartment complex, I put my arm on the arm rest next to Tyce's, trying to get up the courage to just grab his hand and hold it in mine while he drove. His other hand was on the top of the steering wheel, and I was amazed at how just seeing him do simple tasks made him look so hot and manly. I felt the bulge in my shorts getting bigger, so I subtly tried to shift my weight to make sure it wasn't obvious.

"So where am I heading?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows at my briefly before returning his eyes to the road. I chuckled.

"Um, I don't know, just someplace simple," I replied. He arched an eyebrow, but kept his gaze on the road in front of him.

"Somewhere simple?" He said. I nodded.

"Yeah we don't have to go anywhere too fancy," I told him with a smile. First of all I didn't want to go somewhere super expensive and also, I was more about the small things and the quieter places.

"I know just the place," he replied. The radio was on but not too loud so that we could talk, and I settled comfortably into my seat as we drove down the road.

A little while later we pulled up to a small building that had a quaint parking lot of only a few spaces. Tyce pulled the truck into one of them and turned off the engine.

"Here we are," he said happily, exiting the car. I reached for the door handle and climbed out myself. There was a small sign that I hadn't noticed when we pulled in that read: Sam's Subs.

"Is it like a Subway?" I asked Tyce as we made our way towards the entrance. It was a clean, newer building, with grey stucco and rock decorating the exterior. He shook his head.

"No. I mean its a sandwich and soup place but these sandwiches are...," He gave me the thumbs up sign and clicked his tongue.

"Sounds good. I do love me a good sandwich," I said earnestly. He grinned widely and pulled open the door for me. "Thanks," I said shyly as I walked inside. Tyce followed closely behind. There were a couple people standing near the counter and like 5 people were sitting at some of the handful of tables there were inside. There was a door on the other side of the building that led outside, and I could see some more tables out there with umbrellas some kind of arbor stretched over the patio.

"Let's see..." Tyce said, studying the piece of paper in his hands closely. I looked down at, coming closer to him so I could see what he was looking at.

"Is this how you order?" I asked curiously. He looked at me.

"Oh duh. I forgot you haven't been here. Yeah here," he said, handing me the small paper. "You fill out the paper with what you want and they make it for you," he explained. I nodded my understanding. "Make sure to include your name so they know who to call, he said. He grabbed a pen off the counter and another paper for himself. "Here," he handed the pen to me after he had filled his own out. "This is what I usually get," he said, showing me the paper he had filled out. He circled the different options he wanted and had written his name at the very top. I quickly leaned over the counter and circled the different choices like type of bread, cheese, if I wanted lettuce, a drink, etc.

Tyce and I arrived at the register, handing the cashier both of our papers. The slim girl with glasses and brown hair pulled up in a messy bun smiled at us as she typed in something on the register.

"Welcome to Sam's Subs. Is that everything for you today?" She asked kindly. Tyce nodded. I reached in my pocket and pulled out my wallet to pay. Tyce held up his hand to me. I shot him a look, but he just looked at the clerk and gave her the money, paying for both of ours. "Alright we'll call you when they're ready!" She chirped cheerfully. Tyce nodded.

"Thank you," he told her.

"No problem sir. Here are your cups," she handed us each a paper cup. You can fill them over there at the fountain with whatever you like."

"Thanks," I told her as I followed Tyce over towards the soda fountain. "I could've paid for mine," I told him. He looked over his shoulder as we reached the fountain. He stuck his cup under and poured some ice into his it.

"You could've, but I wanted to pay. I asked you to come," He told me.

"Well this just means I'll have to get the next one," I told him matter-of-factly. He smiled.

"I won't argue with that," he replied. He moved over to get Coca Cola while I put my cup under to pour some ice into it. Once he finished filling his I got the same while he got us some lids and straws. We stood off to the side and waited for a couple minutes. It wasn't long before a guy came out holding two brown paper sacks.

"Tyce!" He called. Then he looked at the other one. "Griffin." We both walked over.

"That's us," Tyce exclaimed, taking his sack. The guy held the other one out to me. The papers we had filled out earlier were stapled to the sacks. I liked this place. The atmosphere was really relaxed and easy. "Do you want to sit inside or go outside?" Tyce asked, looking at me.

"We can go outside," I replied before leading the way over to the door that led to the patio. Once outside, I noticed that the wooden arbor covered the entire patio. There were vines growing up the poles that had beautiful purple flowers on them. Nobody else was out here at the moment and so we chose a table a little ways away from the door. "This is nice," I said to Tyce. The temperature was perfect in the shade.

"I'm glad you like it. I know it's not much but," he said, trailing off.

"I like the small, quiet places. Most people don't know about them and that's what makes them special," I explained.

"That's true," he replied. I emptied the contents of my sack, which included some potato chips. I carefully unwrapped my sandwich. "Can I ask you something?" Tyce looked directly into my eyes.

"Of course Grif," he replied. I cleared my throat, getting nervous at how he would react.

"Well, um. I just, I know that we haven't known each other for that long, but..." I released a breath. "I just, I'm not the best at this type of thing but I like you," I rushed out, stumbling through my words clumsily. I mentally cringed at his hesitation. Waiting for his answer was like torture, even if it had only been a couple seconds.

"I like you too," he said honestly, he smiled again, never breaking eye contact with me.

"So, I mean technically this is our first...er, date, but...well," I stuttered. Tyce chuckled.

"Would you be my boyfriend?" He suddenly asked, still grinning. I swatted my hand across the table at him and pulled a face.

"Damn you for being all suave," I declared as my cheeks heated up.

"It's okay. I think it's cute," he said softly. I bit my lip. "So will you?" He asked.

"Well considering I was the one trying to ask, you already know my answer," I replied. He raised an eyebrow at me, a mischievous grin on his face.

"I still want you to say it," he said smugly. I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Of course I will Tyce," I finally said, causing his smile to widen. He reached over and grabbed my hand across the table, holding it in his.

"Good," he said, taking a bite of his sandwich. I momentarily sat there frozen, the warmth and spark of his touch sending shockwaves throughout my body. I couldn't focus on anything else but the feel of his hand in my own at that moment. I grinned from ear to ear, returning to my own sandwich. He twiddled his fingers a little bit, and we both chuckled.
