I climbed under the blankets but then stopped. I hesitantly looked over at Tyce, who was busy unzipping his sleeping bag. He noticed me staring and looked up.

"Um," I said, my face flushing.

"What?" He said softly, starting directly into my eyes, a small smile tugging at his lips. The rain continued to pelt the tent outside which filled the silence that passed between us.

"It's pretty cold tonight," I mumbled, looking away from his face. He furrowed his brow.

"Yeah I agree..." He trailed off, looking confused and expecting me to clarify.

"Do you-" I paused, looking up as I tried to think of what to ask. "Do you...er, are you warm enough in that?" I asked exactly. Tyce looked down at his sleeping bag.

"Um, I think so," he replied, although it came out more like a question. He blinked a couple times and looked at me expectantly, his eyes shining in the glow of the mini battery operated lantern that was on.

"Okay, that's good," I said, laying down on my side and pulling the blankets up over me.

"Are you?" He asked, then he cleared his throat. "I mean are you warm enough?" I couldn't see him but I could hear his voice behind me. I nodded against my pillow.

"Mhmm," I replied quickly. I heard the zipper of his sleeping bag. Rolling over to my other side quickly, I met his gaze once more. I bit my lip. His hands went still for a second before he unzipped his sleeping bag all the way, never taking his eyes off mine.

As I watched, he spread out his bag and flung it over me, before he crawled under it on his side, laying down next to my face on his pillow. I reached up very slowly and hesitantly touched the side of his head gently with my hand. Tyce let me, closing his eyes for a second and letting out a breath I don't think he even knew he had been holding. I felt myself relax as well.

I pulled one of the blankets I had on me off, and slid it over to him. He sat up and spread it out under the sleeping bag, which acted like a comforter on a bed. He laid back down quickly and we gazed into each other's eyes for a while.

Sometime later, I reached over and switched off the lantern, plunging the tent into complete darkness as the rain continued to fall outside. It was nice and warm under the blankets that Tyce and I shared, and I could feel his body radiating warmth. He put an arm around me and pulled me closer to him as we settled in and dozed off to sleep.

Suddenly I woke with a start from the loud boom of thunder and the quick flashes of lightning. Tyce stirred a little bit. We must've been asleep for a little while.

"Damn rain," he mumbled sleepily, rolling onto his back.

"Yeah," I whispered. "Sorry I jumped."

"It's okay," he replied with his eyes closed. "Come here." I laid back down beside him, but he pulled me close again. He gently rubbed my back for a little while and as I started to drift off again, I couldn't help but smile at how adorable it was.

When the morning came it filled the tent with a dull, grey light as the rain continued. The thunder and lightning had stopped though.

It was so warm and comfortable under the blankets curled up next to Tyce that I laid there wondering if I ever wanted to get up. I also became slightly nervous that he would once again regret it when he woke up. He had rolled over in his sleep onto his side, facing away from me, but my arm was around him as we spooned. I looked at the back of his head for a while, his dark hair looked so soft I just wanted to run my fingers through it, and the bare skin of his back had me drooling of course.

I could feel his chest rising and falling against my hand so I knew he was still asleep. I closed my eyes and just laid there perfectly content while I took in the sounds of the rain and the feel of Tyce's warmth. He stirred a couple of minutes later and I thought about taking my arm back. To my surprise however, he grasped it with his before rolling over to face me.

"You awake?" He asked in a sleepy voice before letting his eyes flutter open. As if I needed another thing to be attracted to him but his raspy voice just now was the sexiest thing I had heard. I nodded before answering.

"Yeah," I told him, studying his long eyelashes and beautiful eyes. His facial hair was so manly and hot I knew I was in trouble when I felt my shorts get tighter. Oops. A small smiled tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"I know that I was, or rather am, worried about messing things up or making it complicated but, at some point when do we stop worrying?" He asked, still with that raspy, sleepy voice. I thought about that for a moment.

"It's true," I sighed, rolling onto my back and putting an arm above my head. Tyce propped himself up on his elbow.

"So...can we, start over?" He asked gently. I nodded, although I was unsure what he meant by 'start over.' Did that mean he wanted to try kissing again? Or just trying to be friends again and forgetting that any kiss ever happened. "What are you thinking?" He asked.

"I think starting over is good," I replied.

"I'm glad you agree," he sighed, wiping at his sleepy eyes. He looked around for a moment. "Doesn't look like the rain is letting up anytime soon."

"I know. Ugh what are we gonna do all day?" I wondered aloud. Tyce laughed. "What?" I asked curiously.

"Nothing" he said, looking down at his hands. He laid back down, pulling the blankets over him. I quickly joined him, hesitantly laying down beside him again.

"So um. I'm just gonna clear the air," I said nervously. He tilted his head to look at me, raising an eyebrow. I sighed. "I um, well I'm gonna stop overthinking things and just say it. I like you," I rambled. I cringed slightly when he didn't immediately reply.

Instead, he placed a hand on the side of my face, and brought his lips to mine very softly touching them.

"Good," he said, "I like you too." I couldn't help but smile so big that I felt like a dork, but luckily Tyce didn't seem to mind. I kept smiling as we laid there together listening to the rain outside.
