Riley was still in the abandoned garage, in one of the rooms. Jaxon was writhing in pain, after all he had been shot in the knee cap as Riley promised. Riley walked in and was waiting for Jaxon to stand up.
"I'm gonna skin you alive after put your head on a plaque!" Jaxon boomed.
"Ah, stay down. You're lucky I even tied a damn bandana around your leg to prevent you from bleeding out. For what you've done, I hope Raven doesn't get to you." Riley spat, with ice in his veins.
"She won't do shit. She'll still love me and be confused. Just as always. She's quite pathetic you know. Maybe daddy hit her too hard."
Riley suddenly became enraged. Anger just roared out of him as he shifted into this human like wolf man. He was truly a beast. He gripped Jaxon by the collar and hoisted him up. "Don't you EVER talk to her again! Don't even bring her family into this either! Because it won't be me that kills you! It'll be her!" He dropped him before he would do any real damage. He didn't want to be arrested for murder.
Riley let out a vicious growl and gave Jaxon a murderous glare before he rippled back into his human form. He was furious. He had no idea what he capable of when he was angry. Nobody did.
"Riley, you can't keep me from her. You know just as well as I do, she'll forgive me and come back to me."
"Yeah, we'll see about that." Riley knew Raven's temper.
"We will. And I will have your head when I get my way." Jaxon sneered.
"Deal." Riley left Jaxon on the floor and he slammed the door shut. He was determined to make sure she knew who Jaxon was. His phone rang.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Riley?! Are you okay?" Raven asked.
"Yes I am. Are you?"
"Yes, mom fixed my broken nose. It's all crooked and purple still. I'm just worried! Where are you?!"
"I'm on my way home. I took care of Jaxon. He's alive." Riley said as he walked.
"He did this!" She said. "Riley, he set this all up! I bet he's even the one who shot you in the leg and put you in the hospital a while back!" She sounded more angry than worried.
Riley chuckled. "I know, I know. He had to have done this. Raven, if he shot you I would have killed him."
"I know you would have. He almost killed you! Riley, if he did I would have given him a bloody death and would have made sure everyone knew it was me." She said, her voice nasally and angry.
"Calm down, killer." Riley Joked. "He wouldn't have done anything." He knew something had to be done. Sometime he was going to have to tell her before things get bad and she finds out by herself. Riley knew she would run if she saw what he could do.
"Will I see you later or tomorrow?" She asked, breaking his thoughts.
"You'll see me in a little bit." He said.
"Stay at my house, please?" She asked.
"Sure." He replied.
"Thank you... I don't want to be here when mom is at work because of he shows up, I may not be alive when he leaves." She admitted that she was a little scared.
"Raven, don't worry. I am not going to let anything happen to you." Riley swore. "I swear on my life."
"Okay..." she softly added. "I believe you." She was looking in the mirror at her slight crooked nose, nose rolls were shoved in each nostril and a splint across the bridge of her nose. Her under eyes were already heavily bruised. She made a face. "I'm gonna make him regret having his buddies bust my nose." She hissed.
Riley only chuckled and said "Hey, I will be there in five. I'm hanging up."
"See you." She ended the call first. He laughed.
"What a piece of work." He shook his head. When he got to Raven's, he didn't expect her to jump into his arms. He felt her tightly hug him.
"You're alive and in one piece." She usually never hugs Riley this tight. He made a noise of agreement. Suddenly his chest started to feel tight and it hurt. He pulled away smoothly and looked at Raven.
"Hey, I gotta go actually... something isn't right with me right now... I will be over bright and early tomorrow morning. I promise you."
Confused, Raven agreed. He was holding his chest and breathing hard when he left. She sat on the couch and thought for a while. She was debating on whether she should talk to Jaxon, or ignore him.
Meanwhile, Riley was home now in the basement. The doors were chained shut and his parents waited anxiously as their son was transforming. He had fallen to his knees and started screaming out harshly before the screams faded into loud roars and howls. He was so amped up he had shifted into his wolf.
After hours on end being in agonizing pain he had collapsed and fallen asleep. He was in a deep and heavy sleep until his dad woke him up for school. The school day was eventful. There were many reasons why.
Riley was at his locker when he heard a commotion. It was mainly Raven yelling a bunch of profanities. He looked to she her darting for Jaxon. She was pissed off, and she had a rage burning in her gut. "HOW DARE YOU HURT MY BEST FRIEND AND ALMOST KILL HIM!" She roared. Nobody knew quite what to do. She shoved Jaxon and continued. "You had me tied up like some fucking animal after your asshole friend grabbed me and beat me up only to be threatened and assaulted more! What the fuck!" Raven saw his crutches and his knee and ignored it. She lunged and swung. Her fist connected with his jaw, knocking it off a few inches. She started to turn red in the face and he looked at her.
"What the hell is your problem?! Jesus Christ! I think my jaw is out of place slightly!"
"Good! Let me finish by splitting it into two!" She swung and missed. He grabbed her and shoved her against a locker, only to be head-butted by Raven. And hard. Students circled around and teachers tried getting through to stop it all. Raven managed to get Jaxon down and was screaming more angry words at him while punching his chest. Riley bull-dozed through hundreds of students.
"Raven!"
"I fucking hate you! You lunatic!" She was starting to get tired and consumed by the affect everything had on her. She was starting to crumble in on herself. She felt arms grab her and wrestle her down. Riley had her in a tight grasp as teachers finally broke through. She was sobbing and fell limp in Riley's arms. "I should have listened... I should have fucking listened to you..." Her voice became more hushed. Jaxon was in awe. Everyone was really shocked because her true emotions finally ate through her usual tough exterior.
Teachers managed to get students off to classes and Jaxon to the Nurse's office to get looked at. The principal was there to get her up and do some paperwork. She was definitely getting suspended for a few days. "Sir, I got her for now." Riley helped his crying friend up. They walked into the principles office and she sat down, her lips pressed into a hard line. By now Raven was done crying. She crossed her arms and looked at the floor.
"Raven, you know you'll be suspended for at least four days. Right?"
"Yes sir. Suspend me already so I can go home." She said angrily, but respectful.
"Why did you do it? You two couldn't leave each other's side for anything. Now you two fought in the hall."
"Well, in case you can't see my bruises and broken nose then I don't know what to tell you. Pardon my French, but there is some freaky personal shit going on and I don't even know what's going on. I wish I knew." She looked at the man sitting across from her and finished with "Just suspend me. I'll come back on good behavior and do as I am told. I swear."
"Alright... I will have the school's resource officer bring you home. I can't explain what happened, but I am sure you can tell your mother." He said, confidently.
"Yes sir. Have a good four days." She said as he dismissed her.
"You too."
Raven walked outside after grabbing her bag from her locker, with the school cop by her side. Jaxon was glaring her down and she glared back. He made a noise of disbelief. He stared at her and watched as she opened the passenger door to the car. She felt his glare on her back. "Problem?" She fired.
"Not at all."
"Alright then, quit your God damn staring." She got into the car and the cop was smirking.
"Sorry. I just think you're a badass. You held your own." He said before starting the engine.
Raven smiled and sat back in the seat for the fifteen minute drive. "You know, I could have beat him up with his crutches instead of almost breaking his jaw."
He just snorted and kept driving. He turned on the radio and Metallica started to play. She smiled and started head bobbing. The school's officer dropped her off and she gave him knuckles before leaving to go into her house.
