Raven stood there after their fight, in shock. She was still pissed off, but was shocked that Riley was leaving and never returning. She didn't have it in her to beg him to stay.
Meanwhile, Riley was packing a bunch of his clothes. He scrawled a not on a piece of paper and it was final. He grabbed his car keys and took off. He drove to keep his mind off what just happened.
Tears threatened to fall from his eyes. He refused to let them fall. He replaced sadness with anger. That was that. His anger took him hours and hours away and eventually he found his place. He knew of an area where there was another pack of werewolves.
That is where he planned to be. They were very accepting to new people at all times. His mom and dad knew where he was going. They've been through the plan several times before. If Raven was to find out then he would have to leave because it would cause less pain and danger. As much as he loved Raven, he knew it would be best for her. He didn't care what happened to himself, just as long as she was safe.
He wasn't leaving because he was pissed off. He would never, ever just throw sixteen years of friendship down the drain. He loved her too much to do that. Nobody, nobody can replace Raven. That is how much she meant to him. Eventually he pulled over along the side of the road and walked off into the field. Riley let out a scream of frustration and ran his fingers through his hair. He was debating on whether he should go back or keep going. He had to keep going. Hot tears of anger and sadness ran down his face. All he has ever wanted was for Raven to be safe and happy. But he knew she hated him. He broke two major promises and pissed her off. He was going a whole three states over. She doesn't know that though, because if she did keep knows that she wouldn't give up trying to find him.
Riley got back inside the car and continued on to his destination.
Raven was still standing in the kitchen area when her mother had returned home. "Do you know where Riley took off to?" She asked her daughter. She saw all of the medical supplies. She also saw Riley's hoodie in her daughter's grasp. He had left it on the back of the chair.
Her mom walked over and Raven pretty much fell into her mom's arms, sobbing and saying things that couldn't be distinguished. "Mom!... he hates me... he's a... oh my god!" She clung onto the hoodie and her mom even tighter. Raven's heart had shattered like glass.
"Honey, slow down and look at me. He's what?"
"Mom... he left and isn't coming back ever... i saw it! He's a..." she couldn't bring herself to say what he is. There was a knock and her mom called for whoever knocked to come in. "He's a werewolf?..." Raven said in a still confused tone. Tears just poured from her eyes. Riley's parents had walked in and they looked at each other.
"Raven you and I know that's not true." Her mom said. Was her daughter crazy?!
"It is mom! I saw it! It was so scary and oh my god..." she suddenly went pale and had to sit down. The way his bones had snapped and adjusted into his new form made her sick to her stomach. Riley's parents had pulled Raven's mom to the side and explained everything from point A to point B. While that was happening, Raven sprinted off to the nearest bathroom. She fell to her knees and vomit yet again. She was shaking. Raven just needed her best friend. When she felt like she was better, she stood up, flushed her stomach contents down the toilet and washed her face and brushed her teeth.
Looking in the mirror, she saw a terrified and heartbroken girl. Her face was drained of any color, minus her rose cheeks and nose. Her eyes were puffy from crying so hard. How could she do this?
How can they both be separated from each other for so long?
