Chapter 19

Leah's POV

I finish applying my lipstick and rise up from being crouched over my bathroom counter. I take a look at myself and give myself a look of satisfaction. I really know how to clean up, I guess.

I look at my phone on the charger and check the time.

4:27 P.M.

Joel should be picking my up soon, we're going take pictures, eat, then go to prom.

I hear my doorbell ring and I jump in excitement. I hear my mom greet him and call my name.

I start walking down the stairs, slowly so I don't fall in my heels. I slowly see Joel, first his shoes, then his pants, then his whole suit, then his gorgeous face. oh his handsome face.

I almost melt right there.

I see a bright, huge smile/smirk on Joel's face as he looks me up and down.

I get off the steps and see my mom crying so I immediately go over to her and hug her. She's so sweet...

I finish hugging her and give her a kiss on her cheek. I then turn around to give Joel a hug as well

"you look absolutely stunning, leah...but I mean what's new, right?" Joel says looking me in the eyes.

"aw thanks, Joel.  you look handsome as well" I say and smile at him.

On my wrist, he put a beautiful corsage.

"I'll see you later tonight, mom. bye. I love you so much!" I say and Joel says his goodbyes as we exit the house and enter the limo ride we got.

I'm greeted by Jackie and Jaime, and Kyla and Tyler.

"DAMNN GIRL YOU LOOKING FINE AS FUCK" Jackie says when I sit down and I laugh.

"thanks boo, you look fine as fuck too." I say smiling.

"okay, is there something wrong with me? am I the only one who doesn't look fine as fuck?" Kyla fake whines.

"don't worry , I was just about to tell you that" I say and jokingly wink at Kyla.

"and you guys! you look great" I say to Tyler and Jaime.

"thanks Leah, you look great too" Jaime says with his arm wrapped around Jackie. they're so cute.

"took the words right out of my mouth" Tyler smiles and kisses Kyla on her cheek.

we finished our prom pictures we took at this beautiful bridge over a small pond/lake and headed to the limo. As soon as we entered, I had one question on my mind.

"so like...where are we eating?" I say randomly and everyone laughs.

"honestly I'm down for pizza but we're probably getting something fancy." Kyla says and Jackie nods her head.

"switch of plans, how about we order pizza and eat it in here?" Joel says.

"BEST IDEA EVER" I say and another huge smile comes onto my face. My cheeks are gonna hurt from all the smiling.

Everyone agreed on the pizza idea, so we ate our pizza while joking around and talking.

We all made sure not to spill anything on our dresses and suits, but it was very hard.

Soon, we were on our way to prom and my body was filled with excitement.

I couldn't wait to take off these heels immediately and dance like mad men with all of my best friends.

We got to prom and it was crazy. There were lights flashing and music blaring. It was honestly amazing.

We danced the whole night like crazy people, not to forget those cheesy but unforgettable slow dances.

"Having fun?" I yelled to my friends who were dancing with me.

"Of course" They both yelled back in unison.

Suddenly a slow song came on and I immediately turned to Joel. We both smiled at each other and he held out his hand. I took his hand and walked closer to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I rested my small head on his chest and we swayed back and forth. I listened to his heart beat like it was my favorite song. this sounds creepy, I know. I was just so lucky to have him, and to be in his arms, and to just be able to call him mine. I'm sounding cheesy already, is this what prom does too you? And to think it isn't even senior prom.

I looked up Joel and smiled softly. I looked into his eyes and I felt like I just fell in love immediately. I just wanted to be in his arms forever.

We both slowly leaned in, and we both shared the most passionate, sweet kiss I've ever had.

The feeling of being safe and at home washed over me as soon as he kissed me.

This night couldn't get any better.

We pulled apart and I smiled again at him and blushed. I nuzzled my head into his chest again as the song continued.

We all got back to my house and immediately changed into pjs.

Kyla, Jackie, and I went into my bathroom to take off our makeup and we finally went downstairs and laid on the couch with our boyfriends.

"who wants to watch the 5th wave?" I said as I saw the redbox CD lying on my table.

Everyone agreed so we played the movie and got comfortable.

Even though the movie was really good, I fell asleep close to the end because of how tired I was from prom.

So that was how my prom went. It was great, and it ended with my in Joel's arms. The way I like it.
