A/N I am so sorry this took so long to update and I'm sorry this chapter is so short. I'm still trying to figure out where I want the plot to go. Thanks for reading and thank you for supporting me <3
==============================
"Sean, honey, come on you have to get up. Please wake up. Please." The voice was soft and warm, comforting. A voice Jack had known his whole life. So, he didn't understand why it sounded so sad.
"Five more minutes, ma. I'm tired." Jack's voice was a low whine.
His bed was warm and cozy, the cabin creaking in a familiar way around him. Why would he ever want to get up? Besides, his mother's voice sounded very far away and he didn't want to go through the effort of getting up. His body was heavy and his thoughts were slow and he wanted to sleep, it'd be so nice to just sink back into sleep for a while. He curled up into a comfortable position, letting the world and his mother's voice slowly fade away...
"Jack, please wake up. Don't leave me here alone." This voice caught his attention and Jack struggled a little harder to wake up.
"I won't leave you," Jack tried to say, but his voice was too quiet.
It was like in a dream, when you try to scream and nothing comes out but silence. Jack wondered why this was happening, no one came to visit the cabin in the mornings, especially when it was so cold outside. Maybe something was wrong? He tried to open his eyes, but found himself unable to. He tried to move, but he was suddenly exhausted. Everything seemed like too much work and he wanted so badly to give up. But that voice was crying now and something about it broke Jack's heart. He didn't want them to cry.
"I'll stay, I promise I'll stay with you, please don't cry." Again, he tried to speak but his mouth felt like mush and the words refused to come out.
Suddenly, he was panicking. His bed was too warm, his blankets too snug. He no longer felt safe, but confined. Struggling, he tried to scream but was silent. Jack found himself unable to move or speak and, the more he struggled the harder it became to breathe. He was overwhelmed with panic and, distantly, he heard a frenzied beeping that he knew was probably important. He was unable to focus though, because the sheer panic was so overwhelming and confusing. Jack continued to struggle, trying to fight to move, to breathe, to do anything that felt normal.
What had happened to him? He tried to remember something, anything, but he couldn't. There was no memory of anything that could have left him in this state. He wanted to scream, but he wasn't able and the thought made him frustrated enough to cry.
"Sean, sweetheart, please don't cry. Everything will be okay. I know you're scared and that it's dark but it'll be okay. Once you wake up we'll go home and we'll be happy. Everyone is here, waiting for you to wake up. Matt and Ryan, your parents, Felix, everyone is here and we love you. Please wake up soon."
The voice found its way to Jack slowly, like he was swimming in sand. The words were heavy and soothing, he stopped struggling and let his body relax. As he fell back into unconsciousness, the voice found him, again.
"Please don't die, Jack."
