Alex's P.O.VNico guided us through all different areas and buildings of the camp. As he spoke, Kim's eyes glistened. I knew that she wouldn't make a move, so I would be her wing man.
"Hey, Nico. How old are you exactly?" I questioned. Kim perked up at my voice. Once she realized what I asked, she blushed and whacked me on the arm. I wiggled my eyebrows at her in response.
"Thirteen," he replied, monotone. Kim's eyes lit up once more in hope and her lips curled into a smile.
I looked over at her and mouthed 'he's your age' with a wink. She bounced lightly in excitement, trying hard to not make it noticeable.
"You?" My ears perked up.
"Pardon?"
"How old are you?" he sighed.
"oh! I'm twelve and this lovely and single lady right here is thirteen as well,"
Kim sent me a fiery glare that said more than enough about how she would kill me later.
"uh-huh. I guess we're the same age," he shrugged as he kept forward.
We passed a large area that was plentiful with tables all with a designated name. Some kids sat together, laughing and having nice conversations while eating and enjoying one another's company.
"This is the dining pavilion," Nico gestured to the tables. "This is where we eat, each table belongs to a certain cabin and/or God. Children of Zeus sit at the Zeus cabin table, The children of Apollo at the Apollo cabin table, and so on and so forth,". The way he spoke made him seem bored. As if the camp had become austere after being here so long. I ignored it and kept listening.
As he spoke, my mind went elsewhere. I thought about my family and what it would be like once they realized I was gone and how they would react. My mom, my dad, my sisters. The it hit me.
"Nico, where's Chiron?" I demanded.
Nico stopped his statement midway to look at me.
"He's normally in the Big house."
"The what?" My face contorted into one of confusion.
"The big building towards the entrance that looks like it belongs in the suburbs," he sighed.
I nodded and turned to begin my trek over there.
"Where are you going?" Kim asked, worry laced in her voice.
"I got to talk to zodiac sign. I'll be back, I promise," I reassured.
She nodded and I ran the opposite direction.
I had finally reached the 'Big house'. Nico's description was accurate: it did look like it belonged in the suburbs. I took a deep breath and waltzed in.
As I tried to navigate the labyrinth of the building, I ran into a tan, freckled boy with tousled blond curls. He dropped the gauze and antiseptic that he held in his arms on impact.
"Shit! I'm so sorry," I leaned down and picked it up for him.
"oh, thanks!" he smiled before he placed his open hand out to me. "I'm Will. I'm a medic. I'm guessing you're new from the confused look on your face," he chuckled.
"Yeah, I am. My name is Alex," I shook his hand. "I'm looking for Chiron. Do you have any idea where he is by chance?"
"He should be behind the door at the end of the hall on your left," he smiled.
"Thanks so much,"
"If you ever get hurt, ask for Solace," he winked before walking away with his supplies.
A smirk creeped up on my face before heading to the door that Will told me about.
His directions led me to a tall, wooden door that had 'COUNSELOR' labeled in large lettering. I took a deep breath and knocked.
"Come in," chimed a deep voice.
I slowly creaked the door open to poke my head into the room to find Chiron. Except his lower half wasn't a horse this time, it was human legs in.....is that a wheelchair? I stared in confusion for a moment before a voice shook me out of my thoughts.
"How may I help you, Mrs. Alex?"
"I-I uh," I stumbled over my words. "I uh, have a question," I coughed. Chiron looked at me and nodded to insinuate for me to go on. "I have two human biological parents. How can I be a demigod?" I asked whilst rubbing the back of my neck.
"Hmm," Chiron rubbed his chin. "I'm not quite sure either, my dear; however, the satyrs are sure that you are a demigod, especially the one we sent out. Perhaps there is something that you are unaware of in your family history?"
I looked down.
"I understand, I'm sorry for taking you time,"
"Nonsense, it was pleasure to speak with you," he smiled before I made my way out of the room.

Once I found the two emo lovebirds, I continued with them as if I never left. Kim was very obviously crushing on out tour guide while he stayed as dense as iron.
Kim looked at me when she noticed I had come back. She turned to me and placed her hand on my shoulder.
"What was that? How did it go with Chiron?" She interrogated.
"I just had a question, hun. Nothing big," I poked her arm.
"Just tell me if anything is wrong, okay?" she sighed.
"I could say the same to you, little miss 'I'm okay',". She stuck her tongue out in retribution.
"This is the Hermes cabin. You two will be staying here until you're both claimed by your godly parent. I wouldn't suggest keeping anything valuable here, just saying," he shrugged. "That's the end of the tour, you guys should get some sleep," he smiled which made Kim almost have an aneurysm.
With that, he walked off.
Kim and I both looked at the cabin with a face that said the same thing: welcome home.
