    Kim's P.O.V.

Alex and I were walking back from the dining pavilion when we were stopped by a familiar voice.

"Excuse me, ladies," Chiron quietly trotted behind us to catch up. "There is a matter I must speak to you about," He placed his hands behind his back. He cleared his throat before continuing. "At camp we have a capture the flag event every week. Certain cabins are chosen to be on and red team and blue team. The goal is for the other team to capture the enemy's flag, which is located somewhere in the woods. The flag is guarded by other campers and you must fight to retrieve it," he finished.

"Wait, fight?!" I was shocked at his words.

"Indeed. Annabeth will give you further instruction," he gestured to a blond girl with stormy gray eyes. She radiated authority and intelligence.

Chiron turned away and left. It was just us and the blond girl.

"I'm Annabeth," she held out her hand with a friendly grin.

"Kim," I hesitantly shook her hand.

"Alex," my friend chimed beside me.

"Alright, with introductions out of the way, why don't we start the explanation," Annabeth placed her hands on her hips.

She proceeded to inform us about the rules and how the entire game worked. She even gave us some details on the layout of the forest. As she explained, she led us to a normal looking shed.

"This," she pointed to the wooden storage unit, "is the weapons shed,".

"Are you sure because it kind of looks like Shrek's outhouse," Alex lifted an eyebrow.

Annabeth responded by pushing the creaky door open to reveal a plethora of weapons arranged around the small space.

"Choose the one that you feel most comfortable with,"

"Woah," I said in awe as I walked around the shed.

"Holy fuck! This shit is awesome!" Alex exclaimed in delight.

I felt around some of the weapons, holding them in my hand to see if it was the right fit. Nothing yet.

Finally, I spotted it. A gorgeous bow and arrow with silver carvings on the side. I walked up to it and held it in my grip. It was perfectly shaped for my hand. I felt powerful holding it.

"Perfect," I muttered.

"That's the one?" Annabeth asked from the entrance of the shed.

I eagerly nodded and skipped outside where Alex stood with a dark silver sword hanging loosely beside her.

"Let's go,"

The Hermes cabin was on the red team. This meant we were with Annabeth; however, her plan involved us protecting the flag. She didn't trust the newbies with the hard stuff just yet. I don't blame her.

All was calm. I sat on the boulder that held the flag, kicking me feet of the edge. Alex stood in the grass, leaning on her sword that was stabbed into the ground. Nothing caught my attention until I saw a movement from behind the trees. My head popped up in alert.

"Someone's here," I squinted my eyes at the forest.

"Whopee. An opponent," Alex rolled her eyes and threw her hands up. Her words were dripping with sarcasm.

"I'm being for real! I saw something move behind those trees," I pointed in the direction where I witnessed the discrepancy.

"Guess we've actually got to use this shit," She swung her sword upwards.
