I want to make you smile whenever you’re sad,
To let you know that you’re the best thing
I’ve ever had,
I want to be your light in your darkest days,
To keep you safe in any ways,
I want to hold you tight when you’re letting go,
To cheer you up at the times of woe,
I want to stay right beside you when you feel alone,
To give you hope when everything’s thrown,
I want to hear the sweet, gentle melody of your voice,
To resist but I don’t seem to have any choice,
I want to be there for you all the time of your life,
To get you out of your hopeless strife,
I want to wrap you and keep you in my arms,
To protect you from any threatening harm,
I want to take your hand and hold it forever,
To be where you are so we’d be together,
I want to fathom the deepness of your eyes,
To see the truth behind the lies,
I want to run my hands into your hair,
To feel the warmth of that touch that’s so fair,
I want to climb the rampart of burdens and fear,
To reach the other side where your face is clear,
I want to defy the reasons that are wrong and unjust,
To hold you again before all turns to dust,
And when I do, I shall lay down at last.

Poems of the Deep Dark Heart
PoetryThis is a collection of my poems inspired by the novels I've read. Others are inspired by completely different things. Some are sonnets, some are not, some are just out of the blue. © 24CasterXAngel1878, 2008-2012
