Ch.2

I as I drove home that afternoon, it was raining quite heavily. Teddy would be home from pre-school in an hour. As I reached the garage of our two story home, I reached back and grabbed the file. I walked in through the garage door and into the hallway. I made a left right toward the dining room/kitchen. I sat down on the chair and put my head in my hands. After sitting as such for a moment I took out the number. I didn't want to call the home phone. Carlisle is probably working. I heard later that day that he was a famous small town doctor in the town of Forks, Washington State. He was rich. I wanted to talk to him instead. But I assumed he was at work. But then I realized that it was only 8:00 am in America. I might still have a chance.

I grabbed my cell phone and dialed said number. It rang and rang and rang until I got a voicemail.

"Dammit."

I went over to the couch and fell asleep.

...

"Harry!!"

"Wha... Oh. Hi Teddy."

Their he sat on my lap and and his sandy brown hair was falling in my face. His blue green eyes like father peering at me happily. He was giggling.

I sat up and he clung to my shirt to keep from falling. I smiled sleepily at him.

"Hey Teddy. How was school?"

"Great!! I played with a frog on da playground."

"And what did the froggy do?"

"He hopped and rippited away from me and I chased him."

"Was it fun?"

"Yes."

"That's good."

I began to fall asleep again. But then Teddy put his small hands on my shoulders and shook me.

I playfully scared him by jumping just as he was giving up. He screamed and started laughing. I stood and threw him over my shoulder. I sat him on the tables edge and untied his shoes.

"What do you want for dinner tonight?"

"Taco."

"Taco?"

He nodded determinedly.

"Alright. I'll start cooking the ground beef then."

I heard him clapping from the other room. After setting the stove and thoroughly breaking down the beef, I watched TV with Teddy. He loved American football and the NFL was just starting.

When dinner was finally ready, the two of us made spicy salsa and put it on a soft shell for us. I wrapped his to prevent a mess. As we were in the middle of eating, I heard my phone ringing in the kitchen. I stood and walked into the room and snatched the phone. The Caller ID said, Cell WA. and underneath it was the doctors number.

"Hello?" I answered hastily.

"Yes. Excuse me but I got a call from this number earlier and wasn't able to answer, I was with a patient. May I ask who you are?"

"I'm sorry! I probably should have left a message. I work at the ministry. I called to talk about this newborn army and if I really am needed for assistance. I'm Harry, sir. Harry Potter."

At first the voice paused.

"Oh! Ah yes. Mr. Potter I have heard of you. Your both Ministries are quite aware of you're accomplishments. As is my family."

"Thanks. Umm. About this army of newborns... Do you know how many of them there are?"

"We've estimated anywhere for 200 to 500 vampires."

"Jesus." I paused after continuing. "You see. Dr. Cullen I'd-"

"Call me Carlisle."

"Carlisle. I'd love to help, truly I would but I have a small God-son and I'm worried about his safety with all of the newborns around."

"Yes of course. Harry I'll assure you we would watch over him. We have another human with us that we are guarding with our lives! She is one of my son's girlfriend. You see we know why this army came to be."

"Why?"

"The leader of this group, her name is Victoria. Nearly a year ago her mate James had tried to brutally murder Bella. She is the human we watch. We had to kill James ourselves. Victoria, ever since then has been looking for revenge. She wants to kill Bella. To let my son know how she felt when he killed James. She knows we won't give out without a fight."

"I see. This changes things. This is a family matter... Do truly promise that watching over Teddy as well as Bella would not a problem?"

"Of course not Harry."

"Alright then. Expect me tomorrow after noon."

There was another pause before he answered.

"Thank you. Truly. We need as much help as we can get."

"Your welcome. See you soon."

"Likewise."

Click.

I pressed my back against the wall. Is this the right choice? Am I risking my life for a human girl I don't even know? No. No I'm not. I'm risking my life for everyone. The coven, the girl, the shapeshifter's, the muggles who will die in the process. For everyone. Oh dear God. Here I go again.. Trying to save the world.
