Ch.11

Today is Friday. The third Friday I've spent here in Washington. In the early morning I was woken from my sleep by the sound of a cellphone.

"Harry. Da phone is ringing." Teddy called. Already awake and dressed. Teddy shoved the small phone into my hand.

Blindly I put the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I moaned.

"Potter! You're still asleep?"

Malfoy, I sighed in my head.

"Yeah I am! It's still six in the morning here."

He laughed through the phone and I rolled on my back.

"What do you want?"

"Kingsley needs a report. He also wants to know when you're coming back. You've been gone for three weeks."

Coming back? I don't want to come back. Not now at least.

"I know. Look I don't know when I'm coming back. The war hasn't even begun yet. It starts Monday."

"MONDAY! That's in three days!"

"I know. We've been practicing. We can't just go out and kill them Draco. They're still expanding! We are terribly outnumbered.."

"Call back-up."

I paused for a moment.

"No. I won't do that."

"You're joking?"

"No I'm not. It isn't their place to step in. The back team for one had know clue of what they are up against. Second, they don't know these people. I do! I really like them. Do you even know why this happened?"

"No..."

"Revenge that's what. The leader of the group, Victoria is trying to kill a human girl named Bella. Bella is Edward Cullen's girlfriend. Edward Cullen is one of the coven members. The coven members, one year past, killed Victoria's mate James because he tried to murder the girl. Victoria knows they won't give up without a fight. The reason the wolves are involved in because one of them is Bella's close friend Jacob Black. They needed help from us. I'm that help. Me only. Do not call back-up."

I heard a dead silence on the phone.

"That's ALL this is about? A girl? A FUCKING HUMAN GIRL! Are you serious?"

"AND the fate of America's people! It's not all Bella. She's just the reason they're coming."

"Kill her and make them leave."

"No! That would crush the Cullen's. It'd crush me! The wolf tribe! Bella's father. Her mother, stepfather, friends. It's not just an easy fix. We have to kill Victoria. She's the source."

"So if you're going to kill this carrot-top headed pale bitch then we have to wait three more days for you to come back?"

"It might be more! Damage! Outcomes could get ugly."

I heard him scoff.

"What do I tell Kingsley?"

"Exactly what I told you."

"And when he asks of you're return?"

"Tell him..." I don't want to leave. "Tell him, as long as I need to recover from battle. If he asks how long that is.. Then say 'he didn't tell me, Sir.'"

I heard a commotion in the phone.

"Amos! Where is Mr. Malfoy?" I heard Kingsley say.

"In his office, Minister." Said the voice of Amos Diggory.
