Ch.7

It's Friday morning and I wake with a feeling of dread in my stomach. Teddy is sleeping soundless beside me. His small thumb curled in the tag of his blanket. His shaggy sandy hair covering his eyes. How I wished to be a child again. So innocent. So young. Not having to deal with families, money, rumors, work, relationships, sex... I wish I could be there. But I'm not.

I'm dreading that he won't tell her. But I also dread that he will and she won't forgive him. Thus, I'd be the end to their relationship, gaining eternal hatred from them both, making my job more difficult.

I sigh and get out of bed. I leave the door open for Teddy and walk downstairs. The house is completely empty today. Carlisle is working a double-shift tonight so he can prepare for a heart transplant surgery he has to preform tomorrow. The kids are in school and Esme told me last night that she was going to spend her day running out of home errands. It's just Teddy and I. At least until 2:30. I check the clock and see that it's 10:19.

I smile to myself and pull out the carton of eggs to make breakfast for us.

....

"Wassup!!! We're home man." I hear Emmett call from the front door.

I was busy showing Teddy my patronous in the back yard. He laughed as the bright misty blue stag ran around him. I kept the door open.

After sending the buck away, the saw only four of the five children.

"Where's your brother?" I asked.

"He went to get the human." Rosalie replied with a bitter tone.

"Don't talk about her like that Rose. Bella is family." Jasper told her.

"He's right. It's rude." I agreed.

Although I felt like I had no right to say that. I slept with her boyfriend. More like he slept with me, a voice in the back of my head said. I wished nothing but the best for them. I really liked Bella. She was quirky and awkward but it gave a realism that made me realize how different she was then her boyfriends family. It also helped me realize I actually needed her in this. So what if I have magic. I'm not a pale skinned beauty that gets to live forever, with speed, strength, and agility. And neither is she. Not yet at least from what I hear.

"Harry?"

"Yes Alice?"

"Can I talk to you for a second?"

I knew exactly why she wanted to talk.

"Yeah... Hold on."

I ran over to Teddy and told him that I had to talk to Alice. He nodded and called for Rosalie, Emmett, and Jasper to come play with him. All three happily obliged.

Alice and I walk past the kitchen and into the living room.

"So I had a vision in history today.."

"And."

"He's going to tell her tonight. He's going to pick her up now."

"Also," she continued,"Victoria and her group will be attacking two Monday's from now. As you know we are graduating again Wednesday. That gives as five days to prepare. The plan is too start training with the wolves tomorrow and have our graduation party Wednesday evening. On Friday Bella will come and she will spend the night until Sunday when we camp out in the mountains. Then comes Monday... D-day."

"So that's the plan?"

She nods.

"Excellent, Alice!"

....

The second Bella and Edward walked through the door, I wanted to leave. To run away though, would be cowardice. I sighed and kept myself planted on the couch. She saw me and smiled. I smiled back.

"Hey Harry."

"Hey. How are you?"

"I'm good. I just wish we didn't have calculus homework this weekend." She added with a bummed nod.

I laughed a little. I stopped abruptly then because Edward had entered and he was glaring at me. Mostly likely for associating with Bella. I could tell he was fearful and break my promise to wait and tell her what happened. But that wasn't the case anymore.

He looked at me with a pure disgust that tore at my soul. Not one person, even Voldemort, had given me such a look. He took her hand they went upstairs leaving me alone.

....

A few hours later Bella came downstairs followed by Edward, both looked distraught and awkward. I knew it was done. He told her. He looked at me and nodded. Bella looked at me and I was surprised that the look she gave me wasn't anger or betrayal but forgiveness. She understood that it was a complete accident on my part. Edward was watching her with a worried look. I watched her turn to him with a look that said she was displeased.

"I forgive you, but I'm not happy with what you did."

He nodded.

She then walked over to me and I tensed. I was fearful of what she'd do.

"I-"

She shushed me.

"It's okay. I'm not angry with you. I understand. He told me you were half asleep when it happened. And you tried to stop it."

I smiled as I sighed in a great relief.

"But," she said flipping her eyes to us both,"I realize the tension between you two is still there. I don't want you to hate each other. I want you to talk. And Edward, if I find out you aren't trying to make up, that's it."

His eyes widened at the prospect of her breaking up with him for my sake. He shot a glare at me.

"Don't do that." Bella scolded.

He looked at her in apology.

"I'll see you guys later."

She hugged me and I felt a peace of mind. When she hugged Edward he had a look of guilt on his face. He went to kiss her but she stopped him.

"No. You get a punishment Mr. No kissing or coming over my house until graduation day at the party."

With that she smiled playfully and left the room, calling for Alice to take her home.

I was snickering.

"Shut up."

I stopped.

"What the hell did I do?" I asked confused.

"Costed my relationship and still are."

"How am I now?"

"If we don't talk."

"But we are right now."

"She means like friends."

I knew that, I thought. He glared at me again.

"I thought Bella told you to stop doing that?"

"Bella's gone."

"Some boyfriend you are..."

He grunted.

I stood up and walked up to him.

"She's right you know. We can't stay this way forever. I'm going to be here permanently, soon."

"I know that."

"Why are you acting so cruel?"

He sighed.

"I'm afraid becoming attached could lead to another pleasureful act."

"If you ever...get that urge then walk away."

He nodded.

I tried to muster a smile for him.

"Well, I guess I'll be doing a lot of walking then."

He turned around and ran upstairs. I stood at the foot of the stairs in complete shock.
