"Psst!" Mist hissed from behind her stack of books. She and I were in the school library. Link was finding more books off of a list we wrote for him.
"What?"
"Um, I wanna ask you something." She whispered.
"Okay. What?"
"Link. Is he available?"
"What?"
"Yeah. I know. Stupid question. Boy like that, probably has a girlfriend."
"No. It's just that I didn't expect you to like him."
"Why?"
"I don't know. But yeah, he's available."
"What about you?"
"Me? Like him? No. He's all yours."
"Promise?"
"Promise."

4:00pm
Link and I were walking home. He was happily chatting about his first day.
"Yeah. Mr. Clemons is crazy." I laughed.
"He seems so."
All of a sudden, a load crash echoed from an alley next to us. Something growled.
I froze. "What was that?"
"I don't know. I think we should keep walking though."
"No. Someone might need help." I walked towards the alley. "Hello?" Something growled. It made my blood freeze. Suddenly, something lashed out at my face, blood splattering everywhere. I fell back against the alley wall, clutching my face and trying to ignore the pain.
"Zelda!" Link dashed forward.
"No!" The thing could get Link, too.
The 'thing' came out of the shadows. It was a large, gray and white wolf with blood red eyes and huge teeth and claws.
"A wolfos!" Link cursed. "Zelda, get out of there!"
I felt dizzy. I was losing too much blood from my head. Think! I thought. Zelda, think!! Then it hit me.
I reached into my bag and pulled out my switchblade. "Distract it!" I ordered.
Link grabbed a trash can lid and whacked the wolfos on the head. It howled and lunged at Link, knocking him to the ground. I took the opportunity and lunged. I sunk the switchblade deep into the wolfos's side. It howled and whacked me into the alley wall. I gasped. It knocked the wind out of me.
"Zelda, dammit!!"
I gasped to regain air. My eyes were watering.
Link clung to the back of the wolfos. It tried to fling him off, but he held on.
"Link!" I gasped. He glanced over and I tossed the knife, handle first, at him. He caught it like it was normal. He pushed the knife deep into the creature's eye. Blood spurted out.
"Ack!" I gagged. I watched, transfixed, as Link then sunk the dagger into its throat. More blood.
The wolfos made a gurgling sound before it collapsed on the ground, blood flowing out of its mouth. Link held the bloody knife and watched as it breathed its last.
"Are you okay?" He walked over and knelt next to me.
"No." I whispered. "I'm not. What about you?"
"I got away with a few scratches. Not as bad as you, though. You need to be taken to the hospital."
"Yeah. I figured." I reached out hand. He grabbed it and pulled me up with him. Suddenly, we were hugging. I was shaking.
"What was that?" I whispered into his chest.
"A wolfos. They are monsters that usually stay in the woods. I don't know what it was doing. I think it was hunting you down. Which is bad."
"I believe you."
"What?"
"Everything you've told me. I believe it all now. This is too weird to be normal. I believe you."
"I'm glad." He said after awhile.
He hugged me tighter.
