Chapter 6

Enid's PoV

I lift my head up and stretch out my arms and feel my surroundings without opening my eyes.
I knew I wasn't in my house because my bed is a single one and this is a double.
I open my eyes and frown.
Where am I?
I rub my eyes and sit up, noticing Carl's hat on the door.
Shit I slept at Carl's didn't I?
I pushed the sheets off me and walked toward the door and opened it, I could hear people talking from downstairs
"Awh, you slept in the same bed!" I heard a voice mocking someone.
"It wasn't like that she- uh - was-"
" Carl you like her!" A voice said from downstairs.
Carl doesn't like me.
I walk back in the room and look in the Mirror finger  comb  my curly hair, and rub my eyes again, then I adjust the dark grey hoodie and black shorts and walk downstairs.
"How long was I sleeping for?" I asked Carl, and also carol, Judith and another boy, the boy had dark hair and was quiet tall.
"Around 5 hours" Carl laughed
I playfully hit him, "I told you to wake me" we both laughed and I went to turn around and I bumped into the boy.
"Sorry" I giggled
"Don't worry about it" he had a soft but deep voice.
"Im Nate by the way" I smiled at him.
He held his hand out for me to shake, I shook it and said while smiling.
"Enid"
He's so cute.

"I know, Carl told me"he joked and I looked at Carl who wouldn't look at me and Nate.
I walked to carol and judi and I kissed Judith's head.
"Hello judi" I said in a baby voice, carol
smiled at me.
"I should go home" I looked at Carl and smiled. He smirked back.
Then he came up to me and hugged me.
"I'll come see you later" he whispered into my ear as I hugged him back.
"Oh the hoodie" I said and pulled away.
"Have it for a while, looks good on you" he winked.
"Thanks" I whispered.
I walked to the door and said bye to everyone but looked at Nate.
"See you all later" I was smiling at him and he did the same things.
I walked out the door and closed it behind me and i noticed a few people outside so I just walked home.

"Maggie?" I questioned while I walked inside.
"Anyone home?"
Oh, home alone then.
I walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a bowl and some cereal. It's so weird I've been here like 3 days and made a family and friends, I have everything I could wish for here.
I grabbed my bowl and sat at the table noticing someone outside walking to my door.
*knock knock* 
I walked to the door and opened it only to be greeted by Bec.
"Hey come in" I smiled and she kicked off her shoes and shut the door. She walked over to the table and sits besides me holding a book and bottle of water.
"What books that?" I said with a mouthful of cereal.
She laughed then said.
"I dunno, Diana have it to me" she gave me the book which read.

"I loved this book, my mum used to read it"
I smiled and then thought about my mum.
"Do you miss her?" She said softly.
"Yeah...do you?" I smiled at her.
"I never knew my parents, I was adopted and had no siblings" she put her head down.
"Hey, you have me now" I got up and hugged her.
"Thanks Enid" I felt her breath on my neck giving me goosebumps.
I put my finished bowl in the sink of water and washing up liquid.
"Wanna help me chose some clothes?"
We go upstairs and she raids my wardrobe.
Bec throws me a grey Beenie, pairs of black jeans and white vans.
"What about a top?" I asked
She giggled and says
"Keep your boyfriends on"
I stand and say
"What! I-uh- don't have a boyfriend!"
"Don't think Carl would be happy that you said that" I playfully hit her.
"He's not my boyfriend" I mutter while talking off my shorts and putting in the jeans.
"Then why did you sleep at his?... In his bed!" We both laughed.
"How do you know that!" I snapped and pushed her.
"I know everything" she mocks me.
We both laugh and she says.
"Your lucky you found love in this cruel world" I look at her and she seemed like she actually thinks me and Carl are... Like.... A thing, I mean we get along and are close I get but I.. Nah.
"We not in love" I sighed.
"Whatever" she smiled and I put on the clothes and we walk downstairs and left the house.
"Hey!" We hear a voice shout.
I see Maggie and michonne waving at us.
"Didn't think you'd stay the night!" She laughs at me talking about Carl obviously.
"Uh I.. Fell asleep at his"
"I guessed that!" She joked. I hugged her.
"What's this for?" She said seeming curious.
"The Ron thing" I huffed.
She pulled away and smiled.
"Your family now, I'll help you with whatever you want" I smile and feel welcome and a party of something when she says that.
I turn around and see Carl, Nate and Rick.
Rick must me aloud home now.
"Enid!" Carl shouts and Bec and I run over and I hug Carl tight and he hugs me back.
I pulled away and Nate was staring at me.
"Hey Nate" I smile, he smiles back.
"Alright?" Rick says.
"Oh hey Rick!" I say forgetting her was there.
"I hope your okay" Bec whimpered.
Before Rick answer all of us hear this really shouting sounded like a lot more people than we had.
I felt Carl's hand grip mine. The noise kept going Followed by a woman's high pitched scream.
"Aghhhhhhh!!"
