Olivia was brought back to her senses when her attacker stabbed a screwdriver into her flesh. She cried out as the blood pooled under her palm and down the side of the chair she was tied to. The sedation had done nothing to numb her pain and she felt nauseous from the smell of burned flesh and cigarettes. The man sat across from her and breathed smoke into her face. He was a chain smoker for sure, and she lived in a strict no smoking apartment complex. She hoped her neighbors called her tennent, at least then someone would find her. She swallowed hard and coughed slightly as the burning filled her lungs and she felt like she couldn’t breathe.

He twisted the screwdriver in her hand and, though it would’ve been better had it been a phillips, that wasn’t the case. He took the flat head and pulled it out of her hand, she whimpered slightly as he took the base of it and stuck it beneath her skin and started digging. She couldn’t help but scream and he gagged her. Her eyes teared up and he got an idea. Sedating her once more he untied her and grabbed her under the shoulders. He stripped her pants off and asked one last time, “Where’s Elliot?” he asked softly and she shook her head, “I don’t know.” she responded, “wrong answer.” he told her before shoving the screwdriver inside her and no amount of sedation could have stopped the scream that erupted from the brunettes throat.

After that, he got on top of her and raped her for the last time.

At the station Cragen stood in front of the white board, Dean at his side, Fin and Munch at the desk behind him. He turned around and raised a brow “Where’s Olivia?” he asked and Fin shrugged “We celebrated last night, she got a little tipsy, maybe she didn’t hear her alarm.” he stated and Munch shook his head “In all the years I’ve known Liv, she’s only ever been sick twice, she’s been forced to take days off and she hasn’t had a single vacation, Liv wouldn’t let a little booze keep her from work.” he clarified and Fin nodded. Cragen called her cellphone.

Voicemail.

He tried her home and got the same message. “Fin do you want to go check on her?” he asked him and he nodded. “Hey no fair, what if I wanted to wake the sleepy dragon?” John asked and Fin chuckled, “You couldn’t handle a cranky Olivia if you tried.” he said as he grabbed his jacked and Munch rolled his eyes. “I would still try.” He stated and they all shared a laugh before Fin left.

Her intruder had grown scared by the phonecalls Olivia was receiving and quickly left the scene. For obvious reasons he didn’t want to be there when people showed up, and he also knew that showing up empty handed to the boss was going to cost him big time. He left Olivia tied to the chair, heavily sedated and bleeding. She had been drugged enough to where her body was numb, but if she were honest, she wasn’t sure if it was the drugs or the blood loss that gave her the warm feeling that was filling her body at the moment. She just knew she was thankful for it.

Fin showed up at her house and knocked lightly at the door. “Liv, open up, it’s Fin, I know you’re in there I saw your car in the lot.” he stated leaning against the frame. When he got no response he tried again, this time banging a little harder on the door, a crease in his brow. He was definitely scared. This wasn’t like Olivia at all and it worried him. After a few more moments he sighed “I’m coming in.” he called before using his key to unlock the door. They had exchanged keys when they got closer as friends. After her assault at Sealview Correctional Facility, he had been the only one that she trusted to keep her safe from her nightmares. She would call him during the night and he would come over with food and just be there to comfort her if she needed it, which she would never openly admit to needing comfort, but she did find herself feeling better afterwards.

He opened the door slowly and drew his gun seeing the house in disarray. He knew her apartment like the back of his hand and as soon as he saw everything thrown about he knew something was up. “Liv, you in here?” he called fearing the worst. After she had been kidnapped by Lewis he realized that he didn’t want to live in a world without Olivia Benson. She was one of his closest friends and when she was taken he had felt like he lost something that couldn’t be replaced. He often had nightmares about it, would wake up in a cold sweat and send her a text just to make sure she was still with him. He didn’t have a soft side for most, but with her it was different.

Walking through the kitchen, gun drawn he saw her tied to a chair, and a quick glance around told him that whomever had done it was gone now. Quickly he raced to her, after radioing it in he called Cragen while he untied her and moved her gently to the floor.

The captain answered his phone on the second ring, “Fin? Did you get Liv?” he asked softly and Fin replied, “Yeah, Cap, you might want to come down to mercy, I got here and the place was trashed, Liv was tied to a chair and she’s hurt real bad, she’s passed out and unresponsive.” he told the captain who said he would be right down and quickly told Munch about it. They both raced to Mercy General to await the news on their friend.

Hours passed and they waited in the waiting room with Fin hoping that Olivia was alright. Eventually a doctor came out and told them of her status. “She’s got 3 broken ribs, there are deep lacerations to her wrists, we assume from the handcuffs, a gash on her thigh nicked the femoral artery, she lost massive amounts of blood from it, requiring 3 transfusions, there were burns to her chest and stomach as well as a stab wound that went through her left hand, she’ll need intensive physical therapy for that to regain all the strength and control she had previously, and it appears she’s been raped as well as sodomized by the same thing that stabbed her hand, we assume a screwdriver.” he said quickly. Cragen swallowed hard. “Did you do a rape kit?” he asked softly and the doctor nodded and told them she would need to rest and heal and that only one of them would be allowed in the room with her. They waited until he was gone, and all three of them went in wanting to be there for her.

Eventually she started to wake up, she heard the sound of the heart monitor next to her first, and then the light conversation Cragen was having with Fin and Munch in an attempt to make small talk. She groaned softly feeling the effects of her injuries as the morphine wore off. Fin was first to notice, “Hey there Liv, take it easy.” he said softly and she coughed softly. John got her some water while Cragen called the doctor in. Dr. Gray came in and sighed softly seeing the three of them there, but said nothing, knowing they had good intentions. “Hey, Miss. Benson, how are you feeling?” she asked as she checked her stats and Olivia groaned in response. “Detective.” She mumbled and Fin smiled seeing she was still fighting. It relieved all of them to some extent. “Sorry, Detective, how are you feeling?” she asked once more and Olivia replied with a raspy voice, “sore.” She wasn’t prepared to admit that her limbs were on fire and every time she breathed in she felt like she had been hit by a baseball bat. Every movement sent pain up her spine and she was sure if she sat up she would cry, so she stayed down despite her back throbbing. Dr. Gray nodded and gave her some more morphine showing her where the button was in case she felt anymore pain. After thanking her, the doctor left saying she wasn’t sure when she could leave, but it definitely wouldn’t be today.

After Cragen took her statement, he filed it, and went to the FBI to process it. Dean heard about Olivia and quickly went down to see her. After opening the door, he slipped in and cleared his throat gently after seeing John and Fin’s presence. “Can I uh, have a word?” he asked and they nodded curtly and left. He sat next to Olivia holding her right hand gently, “I came as soon as I heard, how are you feeling?” he asked softly and she sighed softly. This was the last thing she wanted to be discussing in front of Dean, granted she couldn’t blame him because they were dating, but at the same time, he was the last person she wanted to talk to about this. He stroked her cheek and she turned slowly looking at him, “I’m alright, much better now.” she whispered, “Why didn’t you call?” he asked, here we go, yes Dean, because everyone’s first thought when they wake up after a night of actual hell is to call their boyfriend of one month, whom you already don’t fully trust and tell him about one of the most horrific nights of your life.

“I’m sorry.” she whispered and he shook his head and asked her what happened.

Not that she didn’t just give a statement. “I don’t want to talk about it right now.” she admitted softly, he nodded his head understandingly and sat with her for a couple hours. She ended up taking a nap in an attempt to escape.
