Luke's POV:
It was so much fun to satirise the teachers but still but still being the most liked person among everyone. Being a headboy of junior elementary made me feel like the most superior of all students. The authority and respect i had could not be achieved by any student. My popularity made every person in Fortitude Elementary to love me.
Our usual routine of ruining the English class was up when all of a sudden a new comer entered our class. It was a girl. She seemed to be so frightened and shy. How beautiful that sight was to see someone like her among the girls who were so bold and outspoken. She lifted her face up to look at everyone, she was so petrified. I couldn't get my eyes off her for all the time she stood there introducing herself. As she passed by me, i don't know what got into my mind and i murmured "Another stranger in our class". I thought she heard it, she seemed hurt and pissed off. Maybe that was just too mean to a person already scared of the people around her.I noticed her in the break having her lunch while reading a book under a shady tree. She seemed to be a very interesting person, I'll definitely try to get to know her. The whole day, i kept looking at her from the corner of my eye. Her baby cheeks, her silky hair. The next day, when i was making queues for the students who were late, my eye caught the sight of her rushing from the enterance towards the assembly area. This seemed to be a good chance to get to know her name as i couldn't hear it when she was telling it to the entire class, i was too busy in observing her.
I stopped her from entering the assembly area and directed her to join the qeues. "Your name?" "Rosie Stuart" she said. 'Rosie", how unique that name was like a rose blooming in a garden. The whole time i kept looking at her before heading towards the stage to recieve my excellence award. She seemed to be so innocent but why did she never smile?A few days later, I saw her name in the list of students who joined the school choir that year. Wow, Rosie Stuart sings. I saw her hanging out with the girls of our class, seemed like she made new friends. She never talked to any boy. She appeared to be a loner rather than a social butterfly, like other girls.
There was something about her that attracted me. It was clear that she was never gonna try to talk to me because she was too shy for that. I would have to find an excuse to talk. The science assignment! I decided to talk to her about it that Mr. Blake had chosen her to be my group member. This was good excuse to talk and get to know her. Please like and comment!
