Rosie's POV :
The second year of high school began which was extremely a boring one uptil then. On 3rd September it was Zhenya's birthday and i along with Alica, May and Ammy gave her a major surprise birthday party which turned out to be a huge success. She was indulgently happy and her smile was the only thing i wanted.Few days later one night i was randomly surfing Facebook when i saw a message notification. The only thought in my mind was that who could message me so late at night.
I opened my inbox and it took complete 10 minutes to open the page. Thanks to my world's most ponderous internet. As i was tired of waiting and was about to close that window, Luke's name popped up on my screen. Why did he message me? That's when i remembered sending him a message in March. I completely forgot about that, i thought he ignored me. But maybe he opened his account just then. What might he be thinking about me. He must be visualising me as an attention seeker. But I'm not like that, if I'd have to do that i would've done it when i studied with him.
"Okay calm down Rosie. Tell him it was a dare." was all that i whispered before replying to his message where he asked about the whole thing of May liking him.
"Oh no. It was just a stupid dare don't take it seriously. I didn't even remember sending you a message haha."
"Ahan? Hope that's true :-) "- Luke
He replied so fast. He was just talking to me that time. What a jerk i thought he was. But talking to him on Facebook was harmless.
"You think i lie?"- Rosie
"Girl's mostly do when they're shy ;) "-Luke
"Yeah whatever"-Rosie
"So?" -Luke
"What?" -Rosie
"How's school going?" -Luke
"Better than ever" -Rosie
"Yeah right. You can't ever stop being sarcastic right?" -Luke
"How do you know me so well?" -Rosie
"I'm too perfect, you know" -Luke
"Day dreamers everywhere." -Rosie
"Don't you like making new friends?"-Luke
"Nope" -Rosie
"Wierd" -Luke
"You're wierd" -Rosie
"Nope you are" -Luke
"We're seriously arguing on whose more wierd when we talked after 2 years, almost." -Rosie
"You like arguing on every small little thing" -Luke
"Whatever, you're so boring that it made me sleepy. I'm going. Bye"-Rosie
"Not everyone sees how perfect you are. Bye" -LukeWhat a boring person he was. He never gave up on any argument against me. I didn't even find him interesting or fun at all.
It was 2am and i had to go to bed as i already wasted my 30 minutes talking to him. My bed was my best buddy and i loved sleeping with all of my teddy bears.
Good night teddy bears, good night world.
Luke's POV :
She didn't change at all. She was still the same, stubborn and distant. When we were 4 years old, we used to run across the playgrounds and she was always trying to win from me. Even when i used to win, she used to quarrel with me that i was a cheater. When were 5, Rosie once puked infront of me on the swing and i ran away from there. We used to play together in the swimming pool of children's community club. She never got over her fear of drowning and she always stayed uptil the part where pool was shallow.
We made a bunch of memories in childhood but when we were 7, she shifted from the town. I always liked being with her, she was the closest to me among all my cousins. She was my mother's cousin's daughter and my neighbour too.
As we both were 7, we couldn't do anything except going with the flow. Rosie was the type of person who got over people very easily. Even i did but i never got over her. I always missed the kind of person she was. As a kid i never realised that but when i grew up, things were clear to me. When I met her in Fortitude i wasn't sure if it was the same Rosie but something about her attracted me. Always.
I spent 3 years with her but even after chaffing and irritating her, i wanted to be with her. When she left the school, i shared this with mom and that was when i came to know that it was her. But she didn't remember me at all. My mom told me the whole thing that how Rosie's mom lost contact with every other person around her as she got too busy in her life and problems.
Seeing Rosie's message made me so joyous. I began talking to her that night and i never wanted that conversation to end. I wanted to tell her everything but at the same time i wanted her to figure out everything herself. Maybe she was too much indulged in her life that she had no time to recall what her childhood was like.
I thought of messaging her again the other day. I never mind laying down my ego for people i liked. I messaged her and waited for her reply. My messaged simply said 'hey'.
I just hoped for the best at that time.
Okay so Rosie turns out to Luke's second cousin? Woah. But why doesn't Rosie ever look back on her childhood memories and try to remember her best friend?
I hope y'all like this chapter.
