Song to put the chapter into effect ^^ SPECIAL CHAPTER
~~~~~
Dan's pov:
"Stand still!" I snort while Phil
moved across the bridge. He turned towards me and rolled his eyes.
"You wanna take pictures now?" He exasperated but there was an amused grin on his face. I held my phone up.
"You can't expect me to just ignore the scene around us!" I look at the pink blossoms on the slightly twisted trees. It was true, the scenery did seem ideal and I wanted to capture so many moments on this trip. "And your extremely photogenic." I add on, not caring if my cheeks began turning the color of the blossoms. Phil laughed.
"You think I'm photogenic?" He asked. I took a picture.
"Mmm." I caught myself up in the photo. Phil was leaning against the side of the railing, his head tilted towards the camera. The blue orbs of his eyes squinting in happiness while his tongue caught between his teeth in a grin. I smiled in spite of myself as I lowered my phone and saw him in the same position. I quickly shoved my phone away and walked over to join him.
Small red lights lined along the bands, giving the water below us a warm feel to it. The rest of the trail wound its way through the trees. Not many people were out at night which gave me the perfect opportunity to do what I was planning. If everything went as planned that is.
I looked over to Phil. I opened my mouth to speak but was stopped when he went cross eyed. A small petal landed on his nose, causing it to twitch violently. Above us, blossoms were slowly falling from their branches. I brushed one off my head. Next to me, Phil sneezed, causing me to jump.
"Sorry." He quickly apologized. I gave a small laugh at the innocence in his voice. He leaned his weight  on his elbows and leaned on his arms. He gazed out at the city before us. It was amazing how calm he seemed to be. Was he having anxiety right now and I just couldn't see it? It made me worried that I couldn't tell these things especially when I needed to.
Then I thought of how far we had come from even a few months ago.
"Goodnight, Phil." I leaned forward closer to Phil's small body. The smell of my shampoo was strong in his wet hair as he laid curled up on my couch. His face was away from me but I could still see his eyes twitch. There was a burst of something I hadn't felt for anyone in a while.
Caring. Protection. Gratitude.
I thought back to sitting in the chair across from where Phil had slept and watched him sleep away. The events leading up to that night seemed horrific. After the party.
My head ached at the sight of Phil dashing out in front of my car, his body ridged with fear. At that moment, I hadn't known what pure panic had felt like. I had taken him home and given him a clothes and a shower. Now he was in front of me like nothing happened.
The sounds of his calm breathing became more apparent as I started to drift off...
I was snapped out of my thoughts. Suddenly there was a knot of anxiety in my stomach. It took everything I had to open my mouth just to say the words I needed to say. Just a few words.
"Uh...I have to show you something." I take Phils arm and lead him off the bridge and farther down the trail. Really, Dan? That's the best I can do? I mentally slap myself for how stupid I sounded. Phil hesitated at first but quickly obliged.
