Not Your Queen

A/N: Hey Guys.

This is a new poem I wrote yesterday evening after watching the movie "Prince & Me".  I decided to write this piece as a beacon to shine a light on the dreams and aspirations all the ladies on here have for the future. You shouldn't have to sacrifice all that you want to achieve just because other people have expectations they want you to meet.

Those diamonds, pearls, a puffy dress,

They don't belong to me,

You must be dreaming,

Thinking I'll be your queen,

I'm a girl of simplicity,

I can only be me, not someone you've made up,

I can't be your puppet,

I have a life of my own to lead,

I'm not royalty,

I won't sit on your red seat, silver throne,

I don't belong among princesses and servants,

The King and Queen can't mind,

I cannot be controlled, chained for you to bring me down,

I don't want to be chained for your love,

Put the heavy crown upon my head,

I'll rip it off and give you hell,

Have you seen a blood reign?,

Centuries of unexpected dangerous,

Suitors and grand balls, dancing with the enemy,

Making me yours shall lead to consequences,

I'll give you the price, you'll have to pay,

No mercy or pardon for your mistake,

I'll walk away and leave the rock of a ring,

For a new bride, you must do wed,

Her plans, wishes and dreams,

They will be for you to take.

Go ruin another life, I dare you,

While I climb and reach my target,

Achieve and celebrate an endless strife.
