Raina
I can't die like this.
I don't cry for help. I'm sure they know that I need it.I carefully reach for my knife and firmly grasp it. How am I supposed to see where it is? It's pitch black.
Maybe it's better if I don't see what vile face it possesses."Stab it's body to the left!" I hear the distant voice through my ear piece.
Peeta.
I do as I'm told and repetitively dig it into its flesh. It squeaks like I've stepped on a dog.
I have enough strength to push its huge furry body off of me and I scramble to my stinging feet."Pull me up before more come to kill me!"
I turn to face the hole, and Kolton is already hanging upside down to lift me up.
I hold my arms out to him like a child to their parents.
He grabs my arms and Talisa and Roman pull the both of us up.
As I hit familiar bloody dirt, I can't help but feel relieved.
Three bodies pull me into a hug."Are you okay?" Talisa examines my scratches and dirty body.
"Peachy." I reply.
"We have to move, now. They can still be after us." says Roman.
"And go where?"
"Anywhere but here. Move it!"
We run in the direction we came when the games first started.
We're leaving the maze.
"Where do we go?" I whisper into my ear piece, hoping Katniss will answer.
"Keep running. The careers are in there." I hear Katniss tell me a few minutes after asking.
From being in the dark for so long, I can't see a thing once we reach the exit. My eyesight makes me vulnerable until I put sunglasses on. The others follow my idea.
"Where to now?" asks Talisa.
I look to my left, and there's nothing worth being wrapped into. But on my right I see a jungle that leads to a beach.
"We can take shelter in there. Find a water source."
They don't object my suggestion and that's where we take off to.
We get used to the light quickly and take off our sunglasses. As we walk, I don't swallow the pain I am feeling. I moan in frustration as I trail behind them, whereas my left leg can't handle it.
"I need to see what the mutt did to me."
I sit on a rock and pull my pant leg up. A gash in the shape of teeth marks trail up my skin.
They reluctantly stop, and they roll their eyes.
As I pour drops of water onto the wound, they all stand there with their arms crossed as they tap their feet. Refusing to help me and staring."Sure. Let's just wait around on the kid again. Can't you see you're slowing us down?" Roman digs his nails into a nearby tree as he spits at me more un-comforting things.
My eyes begin to water, and I try not to pay attention to him talking as I scramble quickly through the first aid kit I made out of herbs and medicines for all of us.
"Raina, you are not going to say anything either? You're seriously just going to take even longer! All we've done since these games started was save your little ass! Can't you at least apologize for the burden you've put on us?"
