Hermione's POV

"Hurry, Mother! They're after us!" Mr.Beaver screamed.

"Oh, right then..."Mrs.Beaver said uncertainly.

"What is she doing?" Peter asks. That idiot doesn't know that she's packing things so we could leave. I mean what does he think she's doing.

"Don't worry, you'll thank you me later. It's a long journey and Beaver gets pretty cranky when he's hungry" Mrs.Beaver says in a hurry wanting to leave faster.

"I'm cranky now!"Mr.Beaver complains.

Just then we hear howls and vicious growling sound coming outside the dam. "Hurry the wolves are going to attack soon, if were not leaving faster at least send Lucy ahead of us" I say getting irritated that the Beavers are taking way to long.

"Do you think we should bring jam?" Susan asks thoughtfully.

I internally sigh about how long they're taking but Peter said "Only if the Witch serves toast!" as equally panicked as I am.

"Took the words out of my mouth" wow I actually said something civil towards Peter. That is a GREAT and HUGE improvement.

We quickly scrambled into the cave.

"Badger and me dug this. It comes up right near his place" even though in a hurry to save our lives you couldn't miss the pride in his voice.

"You told me it lead to your mums!" Mrs.Weasley says. Wait, scratch that it's 'Mrs.Beaver' says clearly pissed that Mr.Beaver told her nothing about this.

We hear distant howling "They're in the tunnel!!!" I scream trying to get them to move faster.

"Quick, this way!" Mr.Beaver says leading us through the twisting tunnel.

"Hurry!" called out Mrs.Beaver while Peter yelled "run!!!"

When we came to a dead end I did the worst thing I've ever done in a serious situation which was when I said "You should have brought a map!"

"There wasn't room next to the jam!" Mr.Beaver defends himself. He sounds so much like Ron and his passion for food.

When we finally got out through the hole Peter and Mr.Beaver went to cover it with a barrel. We look around and see stone animals "I'm so sorry" I say to Mr.Beaver because it was obvious that the stone animals were his friends.

"He was my best mate" Mr.Beaver said sorrow filling his voice.

"What happened here?"Peter asks with no clue about whats happening.

Suddenly a fox appears "This is what becomes of those who cross the Witch"

Then Mr.Beaver says the worst threat known to man....and animals, of course "Take one more step, traitor, and I'll chew you to splinters!"

"Relax. I'm one of the good guys" What "good guy" says that?

"Yeah? Well you look an awful lot like one of the bad ones" Mr.Beaver shot back still infuriated by his friends death.

"An unfortunate family resemblance, but we can argue breeding later. Right now we've got to move" the fox said. Peter and Lucy seemed confused about what he just said.

"He's talking about how he looks like the wolves that are on the lady's side" I whisper and the let out a sigh of realization.

"What did you have in mind?" I asked getting back on track.

The fox smiles, more like smirks but can foxes smirk?

Wolves come on either side of the fox after coming through the exit.

"Greetings, gents. Lost something, have we?" the fox asked with a smug tone.

"Don't patronize me! I know where your allegiance lies. We are looking for some humans" Maugrim says more of a question than a statement as if to make the fox tell his (or is it a what since wolves are not human?) where we were.

We were hiding up in the branches of a tree nearby.

"Humans? Here in Narnia? Well, that's a valuable bit of information, don't you think?" Fox say feigning suprised. But the wolves were unfooled since a wolf named Varden took the fox into his mouth.

"Your reward is your life. It's not much. ... But still. Where are the fugitives?" Maugrim asks patiently.

After a long pause the fox gasped "North...they ran north"

"Smell them out!" Maugrim says as they left.

The fox laid there un-moving as the pain was starting to get unbearable.

Another Chapter. Sorry it was short. I was just so engrossed with the series The Mortal Instruments I bought. I might not update for awhile because I have many other books to update and I feel as if I'm not getting enough votes, comments and fans.
