CHAPTER FIFTEEN // SWEET SUGAR
Taehyung POV"Yoongi, open up!" I yell and continue to frantically bang on the door of his worn down home with the sides of my hands. "I know you're in there! I have a problem!" I scream and people passing by on the sidewalk look at me weirdly. I sigh and finally stop yelling and banging my fists, I lean closer to the door.
"I brought pizza."
The door opens in seconds revealing a pleased Yoongi with a simple yet cocky smirk, "why didn't you just say so?" He asks and I cross my arms and roll my eyes. "There's no pizza, is there?" He asks and I shake my head, "no shit," I mutter and he shrugs. "Oh well," he mumbles and begins closing the door and I quickly place my foot in the way as he smirks.
"You're an idiot," I spit out as I make my way into his small and cramped house that's scattered with empty glass bottles and garbage. "And you're best friends with that idiot," he retorts as we both sit on his couch in a small room that's about as big as the kitchen in my apartment, overall pretty small with nothing in the room but garbage, bottles, a mirror hanging on the wall, and a table with a vase of flowers on it. He's a simplistic guy.
"So what's up, Tae? Want some relationship advice or something?" He asks and I blink my eyes a few times. "Yoongi, can you just be serious for one minute, please," I beg and he sighs and finally stares at me in all seriousness. "I'm all ears," he says and turns his body towards me. "Thank you," I mumble and he nods.
"You remember my past right? The type of person I used to be?" I ask and he scoffs and nods. "Of course I do, you were an asshole who used to bully that same innocent kid over and over again before a midget stopped you the day before you moved," he says and I glare at him and he holds up his hands in defence. "What? Just because I'm all ears doesn't mean I can't add some commentary."
I sigh and continue. "Well, guess who that innocent kid just so happens to be," I say and he ponders for a moment and I know complete bull is about to come out of his mouth. "Never mind, don't answer that," I say and he chuckles.
"It's Jungkook."
He stops laughing and stares at me with wide eyes. "Oh honey, you do need some relationship advice," he teases and I roll my eyes as another thought pops into my mind. "Oh yeah? Wanna guess who the midget was that stopped me the day before I moved?" I ask and he taps his chin and tries to think so I hold my hand up to stop him. "Never mind, don't answer that either," I say and his smirk grows.
"It was Jimin."
His smirk fades. "You're meaning to tell me that the best friend of your boyfriend is the one that stopped you from hurting said boyfriend?" He says and I punch his arm earning a groan from him. "He's not my boyfriend," I spit out and he shrugs innocently.
"I'll ask Jimin about this," he says and takes out his phone and I immediately slap it away. "No!" I yell and he stares at me astonished. "If you tell Jimin, he'll tell Jungkook. If Jungkook finds out that the one person who's been helping him with his problems turns out to be one of the causes of his problems it'll crush him. Yoongi, I care too much about him to do that," I explain and the corners of his mouth perk up, not into a smirk bit into a smile.
"You mean you like him too much to do that," he says and I stare at him with widened eyes. "I-I..." He eyes me as I try to think of what to say, I sigh and bow my head down. "Just don't tell him, okay?"
"I won't."
"Thanks, sugar bear, I owe you one."
"No problem, and stop calling me that before I slit your throat," he mutters as I smirk and stand up and head towards the door. "Bye, sugar bear," I call out and I hear him groan. "Bye, asshole," he yells as I shut the door and begin strutting down the street towards my home.
I walk down the sidewalk for several minutes, there are a lot less people than usual, the streets are usually packed around this part of town. I pass by a few elderly ladies and I greet them politely. "Oh what a handsome boy, he'll have no trouble getting a nice pretty girl," one of them says and I smile but then as I pass them my smile turns into a frown.
Some people just don't understand, just because I look a certain way doesn't mean I act and feel a certain way. Yes, I may look tougher, I play sports and I love running and hiking, I'm your typical guy I guess. That doesn't mean that I like girls, that's just what everyone assumes. I hate society's rules so much.
I walk inside my home and let out a deep sigh, the whole place appears darker since it's turning dark outside as the sun it setting. I hate this stupid house, it's too colourful and bright, I like Jungkook's place so much better, simple and white. I walk inside and my feet take me to a place where a certain item can be found, one that I wish I had never taken in the first place.
I walk inside my studio where all of the items that I haven't unpacked yet are still stacked in boxes. I walk over to a small box where I stored extra paintbrushes, I reach inside and take out the frail and crumpled piece of paper that still haunts me to this day but I can't stand to throw away.
Dear journal,
They're here again. That stupid brown haired boy and his friends, they always tease me. I've had enough. Why can't they just leave me alone? The brown haired boy's friends pick on a whole bunch of different kids but he only bullies me. I don't get it, why me? He needs to stop. He doesn't know what I went through. He doesn't know what I'm going through. He's making everything worse. I hate him, I hate him so much. I want everything to stop, I don't want to be here anymore and it's all thanks to him.I hug the note closer to my chest. "Oh Jungkook, what have I done?"
