CHAPTER TWELVE // TEASING
Jungkook POV

We walk for several minutes, just the five of us, all of them practically strangers to me. Taehyung walks next to me and chuckles at how fast my feet move and the way my eyes divert away from the world as I walk and try to remain unnoticed. I don't find my extreme nervousness funny, if anything it's utterly embarrassing. Why can't I strut normally like the others with their hands in their pockets and not a single care in the world?

We cut through a small pathway and that's when I finally look up knowing that we are just about to enter the park. We walk in and we all trot over to the large oak tree that brings back too many memories of the boy and his friends that used to tease me and hurt me. I sigh and try to push the thoughts aside.

We sit by the tree and the rough bark rubs against my back as we all slip to the ground, Seokjin and I sit with our backs pressed against the tree, Taehyung sits casually near our feet, and Hoseok sprawls out with his hands supporting his weight behind him while Yoongi lies down with his head resting on Hoseok outstretched legs.

"Hey, Jungkook?" Yoongi's gruff voice breaks the silence and I'm thankful since it was starting to get awkward. I hum in response and he tilts his head towards me.

"Can you give me Jimin's number? I was drunk and forgot to ask for it."

I smile at this and adjust my posture. It makes me so happy that Yoongi didn't just flirt with my best friend and now is just going to forget him, he actually wants to contact him. It gives me a bubbly feeling inside as all the other boys start to tease Yoongi. "Hey, hey, I just want the kid's number it's not a big deal, for fuck sakes guys," he says and they all chuckle as Hoseok pats his shoulder roughly.

I search for Jimin's number in my phone, which isn't hard since he's one of my only contacts aside from my aunt (incase I'm in trouble even though she probably wouldn't answer) and my dad (incase he wants to yell at me for being a sorry excuse for a son). I sure do love my family.

"You're taking too long," Yoongi groans as the others continue to tease him and ask him questions about my best friend. "Sorry," I croak out and Taehyung glares at Yoongi. "Don't be ignorant, sugar bear," he pesters and the mint haired boy simply shrugs. I start to laugh as I continue searching though my phone. "Sugar bear?" I ask inbetween my fits of laughter and Taehyung cracks a smile as he observes me. "Yeah, don't be fooled by his grumpy nature, he's actually the sweetest little thing in the world," Hoseok exclaims and pinches his cheeks making him punch his shoulder. Hoseok rubs his sore shoulder while I find Jimin's contact.

"Here," Yoongi snatches my phone out of my hand and begins typing. "I'll just give you my number and you can text me his contact info," he says and I can't really object since he's practically already done. "What if he doesn't want your number?" Taehyung randomly asks and crosses his arms at his friend. Yoongi looks up and smirks, "who wouldn't want my number?" Taehyung rolls his eyes and grunts making Yoongi's smirk grow.

"Are you jealous, Tae?" My cheeks instantly heat up as Taehyung's eyes widen. "Jealous? Why would I be jealous?" He stammers on and I divert my eyes anywhere but towards them. "Okay, okay, that's enough," Seokjin chuckles and pats my shoulder, I give him a small appreciative smile and he nods to me. He really is sweet and calming, definitely easy to talk to.

"There, I sent his number," Yoongi says and it only takes seconds for his phone to buzz meaning that he received the contact. Yoongi quickly goes quiet and begins texting and refuses to let any of us see since all of his friends seem to only want to tease him.

"So while lover boy does that, how 'bout we get to know you, Jungkook," Seokjin suggests and I shrug, "sure, what do you want to know about me?" I ask and Hoseok moves closer to us to join in on our conversation, as does Taehyung.

"Well, Tae told me you were a writer? Is that true?" He asks and I nod and his eyes fill with excitement. "Wow, that's so cool, I always wanted to be a writer but I never followed through with it," he says as Hoseok joins in while smirking like crazy. "Taehyung has read all of your books, he always fanboys over you, he-"

Taehyung tackles his friend to the ground as they both start picking on each other while breaking out into laughter. "Ignore them," Seokjin whispers to me and I smile. "Anyways, what do you do? I mean, like any hobbies? Job?" I jump right back into the conversation and he ponders for a moment and crosses one of his legs over the other as he leans his head back against the tree.

"I'm going to cooking school." I nod and tilt my head to the side. "You like to cook?" I ask and he nods frantically. "Of course, it's a great way to relieve stress and it's fun too," he explains. I've never met a cook before, it's quite interesting that he's making something as simple as preparing food into a career. I respect that.

"You know, Jungkook, you seem like a sweet kid. You should hang out with us more often, plus I need someone to talk to besides these hyperactive animals," he says and I giggle. "Sure, I'd like that," I say and stare into his warm and gentle eyes.

Suddenly I'm hauled to my feet making me whimper, I look up to see Taehyung dragging me by my arm away from the tree and his three confused friends.

"Sorry, gotta take Jungkook home now, see you guys later," Taehyung calls out as he continues to drag me, carful to do it softly since I'm a fragile type of person. "W-what are you d-doing?" I ask as we make our way towards the path leading away from the park. "You looked uncomfortable," he says calmly and I tilt my head to the side and stare at him, "I wasn't," I admit.

"Oh," is all he can say as we both continue walking, step by step into the growing crowd. I finally decide to speak up, "did you perhaps not like me talking to Seokjin hyung?" He immediately turns to me with wide eyes. "W-what? No, of course not. He's one of the sweetest guys I know," he stammers on quickly and I crack a small smile. "Then why did you act like that earlier?" I ask as we both walk to the entrance of my apartment complex.

"I don't really know."

I stare at him and he stares back at me, his caring and mesmerizing eyes staring into my gloomy and cloudy ones. I look away nervously and clear my throat. "I'll um, see you later?" I state more as a question and he nods and walks backwards. "Bye, bunny," he says with a cutesy grin and stuffs his hands in his pockets and begins walking down the sidewalk until he disappears into the crowd.

What was that?
