Life After (Sequel)

Lauren turned over from the absence of Wayne's arms who would have usually awoke her to start her morning . Opening her eyes they started to burn from the sun peaking through the window.

She checked her cellphone realizing that it was past time the hour that she took Addie to school.

Lauren rushed out of bed to go get her daughter prepared for the day.

Stumbling into Addie's room still not fully awake she came across an empty bed.

Her eyes shot open, she was no longer tired. "Where's my baby?" She viscously pulled back the comforter sheets like that would some how make Addie appear.

"Where's my baby?" She raced around the house."Where's my baby." She screeched running her fingers through her hair as tears raced down her face.

No stone was left unturned as she searched the house for her daughter but Addie nor Wayne could be found.

Feeling she had no other options she dialed 911 sinking into her couch.

Just before she could press the green call button she heard keys scraping against the door no longer than a few seconds later Wayne entered.

"Where's Addie?" Lauren frantically removed herself  up off the couch.

"Chill baby I took her to school." Wayne calmly explained wrapping his hands which contained Krispy Kreme donuts around her trembling body.

Lauren could almost feel The weight was lifted off her frail shoulders.

She used her small fingers to bring Wayne's face to hers."Don't do that again." She placed a small kiss upon his lips.

"I won't baby I promise." He kissed her again. "But I bought your favorite." He smiled displaying the green dotted white box.

"I see she smiled." Taking the box from his hand heading towards the kitchen.

"Are You going to put some cheese on your's like everybody else?" Wayne joked.

"Now, boy you know I don't eat cheese." Lauren folded her arms after placing the slightly warm box onto the marble counter top.

"I know baby, I remember." Wayne wrapped his arms around her waist placing a moist kiss onto her neck.

A closed mouth smile played upon Lauren's face from the affection he was showing her

"Mom mom, I have  fun today, we have field trip next week." Addie jumped into her Nana's arms." Momma Nae was free today so she picked Addie up from school.

"Where are you all going?" She questioned wiping crumbs from Addis face. She shook her Nana's hands away.

"We go to um'." Addie placed her hand on her chin. "I forgot." she shrugged smiling causing momma Nae to grin as well.

"Your teacher didn't give you a permission slip or nothing?" She placed Caddie onto her tiny feet to unlock the car door.

"Paepa' in my folder." Addie removed her bag handing it to her nana before she climbed into the car.
