Life After (Sequel)

"Mommy wake pweasee." Addie through a tantrum as she stared at her battered barely recognizable mother. "I told daddy dat' d' monsters come out at night night but he no listened to me."  Addie didn't know what was wrong with her mom but she had never seen her hurt this bad so she knew a monster had to do this to her.

It had been almost four weeks since Lauren had been in the hospital and she's still unresponsive. After being rushed to the hospital clinging onto life doctors were able to stabilize her, but she would have to regain consciousness on her own.

Doctor Elise informed Mr Teals , Ajayy, and Momma Nae that it could take weeks maybe even years for her to come out of the coma she was in to minimize the swelling of her brain. The longer it took her to awaken, the more risk of her becoming in a permanent vegetive state and the more the medical bill would be, but Ajayy didn't care how much money it would take he would not lose the love of his life nor would he let his daughter experience the heartbreak of losing a parent.

"Momma take her on home. " Ajayy instructed he was so depressed he didn't have the energy to even comfort his daughter "I knew it wasn't a good idea to bring her up here in the first place. "

Addie had been whining so much for her lother Ajayy brought her against his better judgment. Normally it would be just him, Taylor when she got out of school for the day and, sometimes Mr. Teals just sitting and waiting for anything good, but Lauren wasn't getting any better.

"Okay baby, but let's pray before I go. " Momma held one hand out for everyone to join in a prayer circle and soothe Addie in her arm with the other.

Addie rested her head on her Nana's shoulder but she couldn't take her arms of her mother. It was a lot for her young mind to understand but she knew that her mommy had been at "night night " too long.

Momma Nae was a praying person and believed that God could flip any situation around, however due to the ruthless circumstances that surrounded his child hood, Ajayy wasn't the biggest fan when it came to religion.

Ajayy wasn't in a mood to pray because he was angry that God would let something like this happen to someone he genuinely cared about, but he knew his mother would get upset if he didn't pray.

Everyone in the room joined hands and Momma Nae began to pray.

"Father God I ask that you cover each and every one of us in this room especially my daughter Lauren. She needs your healing right now Lord. I ask that you watch over her baby girl while she is unable to." She runbed Addie's back.

"Father please touch my son. " Momma Nae squeezed Ajayy's hand. "And let him know that you didn't promise things would be perfect but you promised you wouldn't leave our side.  Father I ask that you— " Momma Nae was cut if by the sound of Lauren's heart monitor rapidly beating. It alerted the doctors and they came rushing in.

Her body began to uncontrollably shake, scaring everyone.

"What's going on?" Momma Nae questioned. The doctors and ignored her and quickly removed the feeding tube from Lauren's throat and replaced it with a tube connected to what looked like an oxygen tank.
