"That wasn't so bad was it?" Ajaay tool the empty glass that had previously contained ice water from Lauren's hand and placed it on to the glass coffee table in front of them.

Lauren just completed her scheduled online class for the day and Ajayy recently got in after handling what he needed to. Dealing with Wayne was at the top of him and his "bro's" list but they hadn't quite found out anything yet. The two didn't have anything else to do until Addie got out of school so they decided to relax in the living room.

"Nope it wasn't." She shook her head even though she hated taking her medication, Ajayy made it much easier. He made everything easier. "But you know I hate taking pills." Lauren stuck out her tongue in disgust while subconsciously crossing her legs.

"Yea I know but they got you feeling right don't they?" He smiled gripping her thigh. Lauren had indeed been progressing since she started consistently taking her medication. Walking wasn't much of a chore for her anymore and therapy was more easier.

"Yea, I guess so." The two started at each other in silence for a moment. Lauren was thankful for him being patient with her during her many break downs. His patience reassured her that his love was genuine and no matter what they went through it wasn't going anywhere.

"Sooo." Ajayy exhaled.

"Sooooo? What weirdo?" Lauren joked, this is one of the few time she was in a genuinely joyous mood in a while.

"You're the weirdo but..." Ajayy paused and made Lauren look him in his eyes. "I want to talk about us." He let his grip linger on her thigh for a few moments before letting it go, he could tell it was getting her hot.

"What about us?" Lauren slightly smiled she knew where this conversation was going and she was finally ready. She wanted her family back, She needed her family back.

"Is there an us anymore or is that chapter of our life gone?" Ajayy pondered he felt that Lauren's smile was a good sign. She was slowly but surely coming around.

"Honestly Ajayy thats up to you. " Lauren practiced this conversation a million times in her head but no matter how many times she practiced she felt like she couldn't find the right words to say. "I don't deserve you." She averted her eyes.

"Don't say that, if anything I don't deserve an amazing woman like you." He frowned. Neither one of them were perfect however Lauren saw Ajayy in a better light than herself and vice versa. "You and Addie changed my life for the better." He forced her to look at him again. "You two made me the man I am today. "

"She is probably the best thing that happened to the both of us because I don't know where I would be without her. " Lauren shook her head, she knew her daughter was the only reason she was still breathing.

"So let's be the best thing that happened to her." Ajayy brought the back of Lauren's hand to his mouth and kissed it.

"Taylor what are you hiding from daddy?" Lauren sat on the edge of Taylor's bed and Addie quickly jumped out of her lap to go find her papa.

Addie begged to see her grandfather when her parents picked her up for school and she wouldn't take no for an answer so they had no choice but to bring her over.

"No hey or hello?" Taylor joked in an effort to change the subject.

"Tay." Lauren pressed she could tell her sister was actually hiding something.
