"Hey mommy's baby." Addie ran into her mother's arm. The chill of fall was starting to come through. Lauren mentally reminded herself to put Addie on a jacket tomorrow.

"Hey mommy." She said as mother placed her onto her hip which was still in pain, and as well as a kiss onto her lips.

"How was school?" She tweaked Addie's puff balls. Addie had a head full of curly hair that Addie could barely manage at times.

"Mommy it was so fun." She collapsed her hands together. "We play who took cookie from cookie jar and, Elizibeth no know how to play so I laugh at her." Addie giggled covering her mouth. Addie is just getting used to elementary school, which she started last month. From time to time she would still have fits about her mom leaving her in the morning.

"Addie that's not nice." Lauren scolded her daughter approaching their car.

"Teacher make me say sorry." Addie shrugged informing Lauren as she was placed into her booster seat.

"Well that's good, Lauren you shouldn't be mean to anyone." She buckled her seat belt then closed the door to her dodge.

"But why you let Wayne Wayne be mean to you then." Addie Added as her mother entered the car. Addie has a smart mouth at sometimes, well most of the time.

"ADDIE WHAT DID I SAY?!" Lauren lashed at her daughter who struck a cord. Lauren rarely lashed out on her daughter but sometimes Addie took her there.

"I sorry mommy." Addie whined. Her feelings were hurt and it was apparent by the tears that leaked from her eyes.

"No baby, mommy is sorry." Lauren gripped the stirring wheel attempting to push back tears. "Mommy is sorry that Wayne Wayne is mean to me." Lauren bit her lip. "Mommy is sorry for everything." She shook her head. She felt like a failure. She never planned for her daughter to be in this environment, it just happened.

Tears littered both the mother and daughter's face.

"It's Otay mommy, no tears, member?" Addie called out to her mommy. She was unaware of how bad her mother was hurt.

"Yes I remember." Lauren sniffled pulling her self together for the sake of her daughter. "I'm going to take you over daddy's house so I can get back to class." Lauren wiped away the last of her tears before starting her engine.

She had eight more months until she received her bachelor's degree in Biology which she was taking to become a dermatologist. It was a bit early for her to be getting her second degree but she had a little motivation to keep her extra focused named Addie.

"Daddy's house again?" Addie's eyes lit up.

"Mmhmm'." Lauren nodded.

Lauren didn't trust her daughter alone in Wayne's care because his negligence led to his sister being removed from the house and placed in the system. Normally Addie would go to momma Nae's home after school but today she had an doctor's appointment and couldn't pick her up on time.

"Mommy when are you going to spend time with daddy?" Addie softly kicked her dangling feet.

Lauren didn't have an answer to that question, she wanted to rekindle her relationship with Ajayy but something wouldn't let her.
